Japanese games always seem to be the worst offenders with this too, which I have a hard time reconciling with the fact that they stereotypically spend like 16 hours a day at the office and don't have time for anything but work. Like you're telling me the only people that are worse workaholics than Americans have time to spend hours grinding in a freaking porn game that you absolutely cannot play when other people are around?

I can only assume the target market for these games is NEETs that somehow also have money to spend on games.

Just from the looks of it, it makes use of AI CGs but at least they had the decency of editing it to make it look nice.

Still, it also looks like the type of game that makes you sink like an hour doing menial grind, barely strung together by generic dialogue between MC and her of "remember when we little?", only to get released of the tedious by a simple panty shot scene after all this time.

a lot of time at work is for show, as in socially they would lose face if they left on time even if they had their work done. I have no doubt a lot of salary men are secretly playing porn games to pass the time waiting for their boss to leave so they can leave.

Well, it is a sandbox, and not a VN. So, what do you expect?

If done properly these things can all improve a sandbox game. Assuming mini games aren't a bitch: The only problem is if it becomes a "Banality Simulator" or even worse the "Russian Grind".

Russian Grind = Do stupid repeated task 20 times to get a single cutscene... repeat... Kill 20 groups of 5 bugs for 1 gold each in the garden to gain enough gold to buy the the camera to make the photo shoot scnene with the girl... After that, you want the same scene, but with her using a dildo... Gotta kill more bugs to buy the dildo! Next scene is taking her on a date... So again... kill more bugs to pay for the date. This sort of thing would be fine if each bug gave 20 gold instead of 1 gold...

Banality Sim = They take things too far and make it so you have too many stats that are all taken into account... Like, you will have hunger, and tiredness, and mood, and hygiene all as stats... and if any of them drop at all below a threshold you can't get scenes or are punished in some other way. You forgot to brush your teeth, so you can't work to make money, or study, and when you kiss the girl you lose a love point and not gain one... This sort of thing would be fine if these stats can be improved from a single action and no need to mass repeat it. Like buying a better bed makes you less tired, or buying the fancy tooth paste makes it so you got perfect breath forever like a permanent boost.

Finished the game with a lot of save scumming. NTR is avoidable: save scum to get "great success" results at each job to get stats up fast. Try to go for touching interactions to get her intimacy up (again, save scum for harder options for more points faster.) After about week 2, her libido can't be super high during the day (you need to take care of it for her) or she will get exposed. After 3 sex session game ends and it restarts in a sort of New Game Plus with 1/3 your end stats and an option to spend money to lower the stats of the other guys trying to score with her. There are some side chicks but i haven't had the chance to play for those girls yet
