I posted a more in depth, timeline-related post a long while ago chronicling his abandonment of MLC, but I think it just got lost in all the conversation. But that's as "nutshell-y" I can get with his abandonment. Thanks for the reply. It was nice summary of whats happened. I hope things improve for the guy.
Yes, No and no.I guess there is no real way to know what happened to the developer but all we can hope is he ok, where ever he is.
I think it's obvious now that he won't be continuing with this game.
It's a great game and well done to him on his efforts.
Is it possible for another developer to start this game from where it finished ?
I know it's impossible to know what the developers ideas were going to be but you get a good idea of his style with what he had already used in the game and a continued version of the game is better than no game at all.
There is a lot of talented developers on here so I'm sure they could make a great go of it.
You could create characters that resemble the original ones.
You could call the game Midlife Crisis Tribute or Midlife Crisis Legacy in respect to the original developer.
I don't know how many people still follow this thread but do we need to run a poll to gauge interest ?
Are there any developers who might be interested ?
I don't have the skills or knowledge to contribute to a game but hopefully this post can put the idea out there and see what interest there is.
Feel free to start a poll if you want to get behind the idea.
Less than 1/10th of your post was wishing Nefastus well. The remainder was about you hoping someone would take up the project so you could get your rocks off. You're right, you never know if you don't ask... And you're never labeled a fool until you open your mouth to confirm the suspicions.I guess there is no real way to know what happened to the developer but all we can hope is he ok, where ever he is.

New ideas would be better spent on a new game. Not trying to take Nef's game and truncate into some sort of crappy remake/re-imagining.You don't know if you don't ask. If nothing becomes of my post then so be it.
A developer taking it on can put their own new ideas into the game, there's nothing stopping them.
There might be a developer out there that likes a challenge and might have even been a fan of the game.
I do apologise if this has already been discussed previously as I only discovered this game recently.
Life is short and sometimes persistence pays off.
Sorry to say it man, but in this case, that would be a yes. Would you hire a young painter to finish the unfinished portrait? Hardly a reasonable comparison but you get the idea. You don't just take someone else's unfinished work and decide to make it your own, do as you wish with it all in spite of the original creator. Only a fool would be arrogant enough to believe that would first of all honor the work and second of all be received well by either the public or other creators. So I'm a fool for asking
Again, in this case, I believe that would be you. Some people are sad narrow minded individuals
I've finished to this game several times.......Yeah, like the other guy said. If they are talented enough to finish this game in the same manner that it was created, they would definitely be better off making their own game from start to finish.
We can each finish the game in our own heads as well as any other no talent hack could.![]()
