so the stereotype of women can't drive is also true?
thats more sexist then stereotyping then anything... BUT there is actual truth to it a

conducted by the University of Michigan, men and women get into approximately the same amount of accidents in six scenarios that resulted in a crash. But where the scale is tipped is that men drive 20% more often than women. And crashes occurring between women and women are more frequent in a sample of 6.5 million crashes.
the researchers found that crashes involving two female drivers were overrepresented in five of the six crash scenarios, including two by at least 50 percent more and two others by more than 25 percent greater than what was expected. On the other hand, crashes involving two male drivers were underrepresented in four of the six scenarios, including two by more than 20 percent and another by just less than 20 percent. In crash scenarios involving both male and female drivers, actual frequencies tended to be close to the expected frequencies.
“The results indicate that in certain crash scenarios, male-to-male crashes tend to be underrepresented and female-to-female crashes tend to be overrepresented,” Sivak said.
The real stereotyping about driving is "asains are bad at driving" or generally "non-North Americans which also hold some truth because of driving cultures/laws that are very different like for example here a driver is required to stop at a yellow light if they are able to make the stop safely in other country's you don't stop on a yellow and if you do you could very well cause a crash, so that sterotype is formed based on the fact well people travel and don;t care enough to check the road laws in the country they travel too causing them to drive like "mad man" based on the road laws here
i'm not saying sterotypes are 100% true, all i'm saying is for the most part they are based on the truth/facts like someone didn't just wake up one day go "you know what lets say this random BS and make it a sterotype" that just doesn't happen like the other poster was suggesting...
I will also say there is a VERY thin line between sterotyping and just being sexist/racist some peiople might put something into the "sterotyping" group but in actuallity thats not a sterotype its just blantly being sexist and/or racist. For example "all asians look alike" thats NOT a sterotype thats just being racist.
