Hey everyone

It's been a while. Let's start with what happened with Patreon in December and early January.
As we were getting ready to make a little Holiday update for MP I got an email from the dreaded Patreon Support team and the page was suspended. Well, I though this isn't my first rodeo, I'll solve it in a week or so, like I did in the past. They told me what they wanted and I did as they asked.
I won't go into details about the ridiculousness of their complaint this time, because it really made my blood boil. Nonetheless, I did everything I could and although it wasn't solved within a week, it took about 2 weeks to get it done. But then - no reply. Turns out they were out of office and I had to wait 2 more weeks to get a response and get the page un-suspended at the beginning of January. You might have noticed there was no charge from my page and even the Patreon Discord bot didn't know what to do but it's fine.

So what changed?
We removed some small scenes from MP. That really was no big deal.
But the big change is that in order to get the page back, my only real option was to nuke DoD from Patreon. So I had gone through and deleted all 293 posts of DoD. One by one.
Honestly, that hurt a bit. It was my first game, kinda deleted some nice history and all that, and even though the game was reviewed about 3 times by Patreon already and considered to be okay, now this time it wasn't.
It is what it is I guess. You can still get DoD on Steam, GOG and my SubscribeStar. I won't link any of that, don't wanna risk another ban or some shit, but they can be found with a google search.
So obviously, I was dealing with this crap in December and it really made me frustrated and depressed. You know, trying to bounce back from being so shitty with the release gaps and we had a streak going, from May to November we did 0.17-0.23. We had monthly releases again and I was working my ass of then this happens, so I felt down.
But I was doing some other things I can't really talk about just yet. And I got inspired again, which is great.
So that's enough of a downer, let me talk about some positive stuff.
So last year - in 2023 - we added more than 4000 renders to Midnight Paradise and almost 300 animations (292 to be precise) and I don't even have any idea how many words of dialogue, but it's in the hundreds of thousands.
That's some good stuff. Those are not exactly rookie numbers, at least for me, so I'm proud of that and hats off to the team as well.

However, this Thursday marks the 5th anniversary of Midnight Paradise's 0.1 release. I know we took about a year to work on DoD: Definitive since then but still, MP has been going on for so long it's crazy. It's time to end it this year.
I could expand on the many side characters a lot more like the main girls and create some of the many crazy ideas I came up with, but this project cannot go on forever. Actually, the main story is finally where I want it to be. We're in the endgame now.
I have the Master Plan finished. Now I just need to execute it. It's long been in the making, and you could guess we are nearing the end when Midnight Paradise popped up on Steam as Coming Soon.
And I know a number of people will start bashing their keyboards about not enough Joyce content until the end and so on. To them: Don't worry bro, I got you ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
(It's not like I can finish the game in 2 updates or something so don't panic)
And to all of you, many thanks for sticking with me for another year. Here's to a less fucked year than the last one!

I don't care what he says. Joyce won't get as much content as she deserves. She'll probably have the least amount of content out of the three main girls.

I have no idea why he felt he had to stall her progress for this long. It's absurd, to be frank.

I'm happy and hyped tbh. This game definetly gets more hate than it deserves. One of the few devs that actually posts very often and delivers updates in a one month cycle. And besides Joyce there are many other hot girls who got a lot of content. Still better than those games who update once per year and still disappoint. I for example was completely underwhelmed with Badik again but it is what it is. Can't meet everybodys expecations all the time. Still I think this game always has been pretty nice.

We will be lucky to get 3-4 scenes. If the game is to end soon we'll probably get 4 updates maybe 5 if we are lucky and they all have to focus on Joyce which won't happen so 3-4 scenes will be the maximum.

I only criticise games I like and care about. If I don't like a game I won't even bother visiting its' thread.

If the game sells well on Steam, I don't see why he wouldn't be compelled to work on DLC content. It's always a safer bet than taking a chance with a new IP, just look at ICSTOR :Kappa:. In all seriousness I can respect his decision to bring this one to a close after all this time, not too long ago many thought this would never get finished.

You wasn't here when the so called remake (or whatever that was) took more than a year to come out plus when he worked on Dreams of Desire remake this was on hold, basically from 5 yrs of development this game has only 3 yrs are real:LUL:

Oooof. I hope there is substantial content forthcoming. We just got to penetrative sex with Sofia. No anal sex with any of the main girls. Not enough Jane content. I don't even need to talk about Joyce. Have there even been any threesomes yet? Certainly not with the main girls. The sandbox scenes were great, but after that initial burst we only got I think one or two more. It's been far too many years, but content (sex scenes)-wise we should only be maybe two-thirds of the way there, not in the endgame. To me, when a game gets to the endgame that means that the MC should be nailing all the girls in every possible way 24/7 and that you're just wrapping up the story that no one cares about.

Does anyone have the post with the 0.24 preview? Does it give a release date or mention how large it will be? Does it mention how many more updates he expects there to be? When he says he can't wrap it up in two updates that of course means that it can be three. If the updates are the same size as what he's been doing, that's not good.

He can still stick the landing, but he has to ratchet up the smut 1000%. No one cares about the story so I hope he isn't spending too much time on it. Hell, eject everyone that isn't the MC, Joyce, Isabel, Ruby, Sofia, and maybe Jane from the game. Add ten thousand sandbox scenes and booty calls if need be. Just don't let it be that we get to 5 1/2 years of game development, end it, and leave people wanting because a Joyce x Sofia threesome or a main girl anal scene didn't make it into the game.

Why should I care about the past? I see that he has changed his workflow and I'm happy with the results. Doesn't do any good to stay in the past. I care about the here and now.

I'm of the opinion that he simply cannot shovel in enough porn to justify the years went by without it. Have you forgotten his not-so-long-ago statement where he said he cannot just shovel in Joyce porn, the story progression doesn't support it? What has changed since then? Nothing.

So he will do what? Shovel in progression to justify porn but that just means further updates without said porn which in turn means he is running out of time before the finishline.

I mean all we can do is wait and hope that he comes up with the writing to properly finish the story. I'd rather have this game stay in its current state, rather than the dev doing a half assed ending like what ICSTOR did with Milfy City
