I think the point is that with a sandbox game you can't just hit skip and make a couple of decisions when the choices come up. Yes it might be "easy" with a WT mod, but it's still going to take some time.

(Disclaimer: I personally wouldn't want to download a save file, for peace of mind if nothing else, as you never know when some malicious person will put up a file to fuck with your machine. But at the same time, there's no issue with people downloading save files if they want to and are aware of the potential risks.)
