re-dl full packet and re-extract to a different folder and try again.

Gotta say, without the incest patch this game's beginning makes little to no sense. A landlord is taking my car keys, CASH, banking cards etc?

To even have this game start like it does stock seems like a complete misrepresentation of the game.

Not sure what you mean by this. Obviously there is a tie in since Eliana also appears in DOD. It is from the same universe.
You either just dont like the idea or just oblivious to it.
