Those games have empty patches? Devs need to maintain the illusion that modders are adding the incest content. Or they're going to end up ruining it for other devs.

Anyway, I suspect many of the engine complaints come from people who just hold down skip to get to the sex scenes, which they can't really do in Unity or RPGM. I remember getting a complaint that my game was like 10 minutes long, either the dude was a speed reader or he skipped everything.

There are various kinds of people on here but a very vocal group hates any engine that involves any sort of gameplay.

RPGM, Unity etc... if it involves more than clicking to move to sex scene then some people will rage against it some will even demand an engine change even if it's not possible. I've seen people demand games like Legend of Queen Opala, Roundscape Adorevia etc.. be changed from RPGM to Re'npy. Those are full on RPG's which means a move to Ren'py would literally be just a slide show with no context or substance.

There are also a lot of people on here that aren't gamers.

The reason RPGM gets hate is because people get lost on the maps and don't know how to progress because they have never played an actual game before so exploration confuses them. Not saying that to be a bitch, that's the complaints I see. Unity tends to be the same, games made on that tend to either be full movement or at least sandbox VN that involves using a map to navigate.

Again, not saying this to be bitchy but there are people that demand walkthroughs for games that have 2 kinds of options the obvious good one and the obvious bad one. I've seen people complain about dating sims because they couldn't get the girl they wanted when the only thing they had to do was not be a dick to her.

Long story short, do what you want to do. You will find a player base but you will never please everyone.

because actual games are not made by 1 person who stitched together random crap and filled with padding and grinding bullshit so the time it would take you to reach the end is 30 minutes, not 4. fetch quests and clicking simulators where it takes 18 clicks to say hi to a character so you can raise his stat and loop it a hundred times is not a game. (im not talking about this game, just in general)
and rpg's can be made in renpy (kingdoms of deception, seeds of chaos are big projects)

Exactly. There is a ton of rpgm games I would LOVE to play, and I've tried. Unless there is a step by step WT sadly I'm lost looking at the screen. And what's really the point of playing following WT for every little thing anyway?

Correct, the coders did not bother with converting the mp4 files to webm.

My recommendation: Download the 32bit Windows version and use WINE with the workaround I posted in the thread you have in your signature

I have no problems with launching of this game, just native versions are more stable and reliable... well, usually.

We're talking specifically about Midnight Paradise and the incest patch. And the lack of plausible deniability when all the incest content is in the game's original code.

Yes, most devs provide the incest scripts, but there is a level of deniability, where they can suggest that it was community created. Given all the confusion with the empty patch in this thread, shouldn't the dev have done something about it for that reason alone.

I've read there are various things Unity can send, but that's not my issue. I don't think devs would do anything wrong, I'm worried about when there's an 'open door' someone else can exploit.

Not true. The Russian community found a way to edit the dialogues . But the workload for doing this is much more as modifying a rpy. I tried it myself but the dialogues were scattered everywhere in the game's data file.

Try to install Windows Media Feature Pack (only needed when you are from Europe or South Korea). Also make sure you have the newest codecs installed. I recommend K-Lite Codec Pack.

Not sure what happened but i got my first ever crash with unity game. not sure what caused this i played many unity games before but they never crashes like this. Also saving and loading that game and is not working the way it should sometime it seem to revert to previous content witch you already did so somethings are not working correctly.
