So the latest explanation for this new delay was just posted in detail yesterday

Well why wasn't their a similar explanation a month ago to let everyone know about these changes
and the extra time it was going to take to make this all happen correctly without bugs

What am I thinking if the Dev. did that there would probably be less money being pledged

So say nothing and keep everyone in the dark to keep the money flowing in

Possible. However, many top-tiers do not care about delays, because they are busy with work, real life and other stuff. They will see the notification as soon as the update been posted on Patreon. And they are fine with it. Long-term supporters rarely change their pledges/tiers etc. Lower-tiers on the other hand change their pledges/tiers before and after an update.

The lower tiers and mostly non-Patrons are the vocal group on Discord and open forums. From my experience I can say that patron-only channels are dead land. Not much is posted there compare to public channels. It doesn't matter how many times I tried to spark a conversation there the same 5 to 6 people would join the conversation and the rest of 200+ patron-discord users were silent as usually.

Said more as intended, but to make it short: It doesn't matter for patrons when Dev posts a release/development note.

No release date has been giving so nobody knows when it will be out it could be days, weeks or even months.
Yeah, that's why I asked, because I thought I just misunderstood or just couldn't find more info. TY for confirmation

I'm not saying this applies to this game, but you ever notice whenever there's a delay it's because it's taking longer than usual to implement "improvements" that are usually behind the scenes that we as players probably won't notice but to them as devs it will greatly improve their ability to compete future updates on a more timely schedule, yet every subsequent update there's always some unforeseen problem that's gonna cause a delay....

Devs talk a big game to convince people to pledge on patreon, in reality they are unprofessional and lazy. I seriously doubt any of these devs claiming to work on their games full time actually work on their games as much as they claim or act like they do.

I mean just think about it, at the end of the day all these games are just VNs, render some pictures, write some text, and plug it into ren'py. These games aren't really complex, and if you figure an update takes 3 months to come out then that'd be 480 hours of development time if they were working full time. 480 hours to make an update for an update that's not even an 1 hour long? Seems pretty ridiculous to me, I feel like if devs were actually working on their game for 480 hours the updates would be much, much, bigger.. It seems even more ridiculous when you consider lots of those devs claim to be spending their money on other staff members to help take the load off, or fancy expensive rigs to speed up rendering times, that supposed 480 hours spent working on the game for an update that ends up being 30 minutes just doesn't make sense to me.

I feel like the typical development cycle for an update is spend the first 8-10 weeks working on the game sparsely, work on it for an hour here, an hour there, whatever. Then the 3rd month comes up and they spend the next 2-4 weeks cramming everything in which is why Devs are never capable of giving accurate estimates for release dates. It's hard to estimate when an update will finish when you've hardly worked on it and you have to cram everything in at the last second. It's why I'll never pledge to any of these devs, I'm not gonna pay people not to work lol.
And we go again.Do you ever try to make a render at the same quality as this game?Because I did.And it takes me more than 30 minutes for a realy realy bad quality.
The other day another dev have said for his 30 min movie when people tell him it's too short.
"I worked on that movie 7 months fulltime. I don´t think you have an idea of how much work that actually is... "
It seems way too many people are thinking that is so easy just to make an excelent looking game, with good animations, good writing and no bugs.If big game studios can't do it with several 10 of millions $,thousand of people and years in development,no idea how you are realy thinking one man or a small group can do it.

Previews of the new navigation have been posted previously. Also Maim Lain has been posting on this thread that he was throwing out the old navigation code and redoing it. They weren't able to finish this up in time which caused the last delay and this delay now.

So we did know that those changes were being made. In all likelihood they did not expect them to take so long - otherwise they would not have pushed the release back by just a few days at the end of November. Still not a good look when you have to delay multiple times.

couldnt it perchance be that Lewdlab devs are simply delaying for shits and giggles...?
their quality is simply so good that all those crying around here will come back nevertheless to play the game.
i really doubt theyre perfecting their game. theyre pros. they got this.
yet these tears are so delicious! :3

It is a pity that this update does not come out in date. but I am used to this, all the games that appear to be good end up delayed, the developer always gets sick, the PC is broken, or they simply decided to delay the update because they are modifying the content already created and released previously. 4 months later, 15 minutes of play and 2 new buttons on the map and there is the greatest update in history .. another classic of all developers.

sorry for my bad English

No developer on this site is a pro when it comes to release dates.

You do realize lewdlab is not just one guy with an old laptop, do you?
The guy has a team AND he has earned way more than enough money to have several high-end pcs to render his work. Many devs with less manage to produce more content faster.

I read that post and I didn't even know where to begin, because you are just so massively and completely wrong on all counts.

1. Their quality most definitely isn't that good. Lewdlab earned his creed by doing one game with regular updates and good renders. There wasn't as much competition then as there is now, so the incest story with a mystic touch felt fresh. Doesn't mean it was such a great story, nor does anything in Midnight Paradise scream exceptional, In fact given the other games being developed today, it's relatively lame. Quality of renders really isn't everything. And even considering those, it's not like Lewdlab is the best.

2. They are pros? The guys who made an almost unplayable, bug-ridden Unity game, which they then had to scrape and redo in ren'py? Those guys are pros? You shit me not?

It's not even that I don't like Lewdlab and his team, they are pretty cool peeps, but the development of this game is troublesome to say the least.
