Hey everyone
The past week was the craziest week of this year so far for me. That's why I haven't posted in a while. It's mostly personal stuff, but don't worry, everything's great
The other thing is, if you've been a patron long enough, you might remember I was moving about this time last year. Lease is almost up and I'm moving again, but this time for the last time, at least for a long while. I'll be at the new place by this weekend and finally there'll be lightning speed internet. No more 3 hour uploads.
So of course there's a lot of things to take care of with this moving but no worries, there's still gonna be a release this month.
And about the release.
Midnight Paradise 0.10 is coming this month and it's going to be a bit different than the previous updates.
As you know the game is a sandbox type of game and there were always things I wanted to do with this format, but I always swept them aside because the main scenes were more important. The result is that right now I think the game has substance, but needs more flavor. So in the 0.10 release I'm adding those things I've neglected throughout the past year. Things like talking to the characters outside of scenes, clickables in rooms that give more background story, some world building and some scenes that aren't mandatory but would add some depth to the game. (For example, some night when you go out to the club you would find Ruby there and be able to have some interaction with her)
Also some general polishing - and a new save/load interface because it's been neglected too. Naming the save files and having screenshots for them is something that multiple people have asked for. I think Lain will also have time to finish the new event trigger system.
This doesn't mean you won't see your favorite characters, but you'll be seeing them in a different way than in the usual scenes.
More updates and previews are coming until release.

Yeah agreed, might even make the game feel like an actual slow burn instead of just slow with that content added in to make the game world come alive. Let's hope.

Well I agree with the slow that many complain about, but not with the burn many of those who defend the slow going, since there is not enough burn in the story that makes it go forward. Now actually the fact that too much of background is missing still and will now finally be added, might not make the sex faster, but at least give us a true sense of the story and characters moving forward. Besides the old and overused stairway to heaven that is unrealistic as is possible to be unless deal with two 14 yo kids without experience.

Finally, this game has been dying for some world expansion to justify the "sandbox" because so far it makes no sense for it to not be just a normal VN.
And in regards of a slow burn, without it there is no context so it's just 3d animated plastic dolls fucking, there's plenty of that shit on the internet. You need to build it up in order for it to be more enjoyable, otherwise why would you even stick around after the first sex scene?

Cause there is a great story with engaging characters?
If you need to go slow with the sex to keep players around, then you do not trust the strength of the story you wish to tell.

At last some depth in the characters development! I do not mind at all less amount of lewd/animations, if that means expanding the sandbox like it is supposed to, and to have dialogs that help build the whole story and each character's personality, because as of right now (except for Ruby) we do not know anything at all about the main chars, how they feel and their current stance in life.
I am excited for the next update.

Does Connor even get a blowjob from his family? I'm sure enough people already complain about the pace, but it's getting unfair when MC already went down on his Mom and sister and he's not getting the same in return. Even when Isabel wants to return the favor for him eating her out he only gets a handjob.

Dreams of Desire the entire development of the game took about a year. There is very little sexual content here in a year
I only played it after it was already completed, but yeah, I guess more frequent updates really make a difference for a slow burn game.
Love the game and looking forward to the new update, even if it is mostly flavour.
