I forgot to add it into the objective menu that the player should wait for Celine's BJ scene. That causes the confusion. That will be fixed in the upcoming update.

I mentioned in that post that 'glasses girl' is someone who is essential to the story but not a love interest. You will find out soon enough.

I'm looking periodically and I often wanna help guys out here or share some of my thoughts, but it's been pretty toxic lately so I tend to avoid this site.
I've read the whole thread though.
Suggestions and constructive feedback are always welcome here (or anywhere). I remember seeing someone post that Connor should take more showers. Good idea, he spends more time in the shower now.

Another topic:
I want to make the Discord server public - so if someone trustworthy from this community wants to be a mod there, hit me up.
That way you can tell me your suggestions and feedback and I can hopefully make MP a better game in the end.
I agree that the backlash/toxicity this game gets is way overboard. But those are the times we live in, cancel culture is on the rise and is here to stay.

That being said, your game does have severe pacing issues. Just as an example, the last time Connor had a scene with any kind of penetration was in the prologue 18 (!) months ago. I remember the huge issues you had with Unity, but still, since then Connor neither scored with main or side love interests.
While it is obvious that he won't get to score with family members in the first couple updates, nothing really happened with side characters either, penetration with Natsuko in the kitchen, actual sex with Melissa during her nightly visit or even some reward sex with Ms Jane would have been totally possible without hurting the main story.
The game feels like a drag because it gives the impression that it is going nowhere. The main reason is that all love interests seem to advance at the same pace, none of those relationships seem to stand out from the others. Sure we have loads of groping, massage and yoga sessions with them, but there's no sex, it's just teasing.
And with the game being at update 10 out of 16 or 18, people get worried the game won't deliver the lewd scenes they were used to in DoD.

Personally, I also have some understanding issues with the extra scenes, some of them feel canon and should've been included in the main game/story. Maim's mod made your game so much better for example, because it re-included them into the game. It's sad that she seems to have stopped the development of her mod, since it really improved the game.

Your renders and 60 fps animations are excellent btw, it really shows that you put a lot of work into them.

What is an estimated date of new update? The autumn is approaching us. The last one was not bad but it took 10 minutes of play time....

Hey everyone

This post is a bit different than usual. I have some thoughts in my head and I think I should share them with you.

Disclaimer: I'm rambling a lot in this post, and it's a long one so I'm sorry about that. There isn't any important info about the release so you can skip this post if you don't like walls of text.

Maybe some of you are here since the beginning, since the DoD days. Those people remember what it was like back then.
Lately I've been thinking a lot about my work then and now. I recently looked at the renders I did 3 years ago... and man I've come a long way.

So basically I was comparing my current work to my work 3 years ago. And not just the beauty of the images I create but the game, the speed I'm working at, the frequency of the updates and so on.

So back then, things seemed to go faster. Update every month, around 270 new images each update. Story is flowing nicely. All seems good.
Nowadays I'm reading things like everything is progressing slowly, there is a long time between updates (I'm trying to remedy that with bringing back the monthly updates).

Now that's true, things are going slower than in the Dreams of Desire days. Okay, so why is that, I thought.

Well, first of all, I remember working day and night back then. Talking about my game with everyone, thinking about my game all the time. For a little over 1.5 years I never stopped. I remember having so much back pain from sitting all that time in front of the PC that I put a pillow in front of the desk and I worked while kneeling instead.
Now obviously this is not something anyone can keep up for long. At least I think I can't. It was inhuman and I'm amazed that I was doing it for so long.
Nowadays I still put in the hours, but the difference is that I actually want to be away from the computer too. I don't talk about Midnight Paradise to everybody now and not every waking moment is spent by thinking about it. It doesn't mean I don't like MP, because I do. That's just how it is now.

Now there are some very big differences in the technical things as well.
Midnight Paradise is bigger in every way than Dreams of Desire.
The cast is way bigger. The main girls were all introduced at the first release (instead of slowly easing them in like in DoD). The main story doesn't have that much of a connection with the household (well, not yet) as it was with DoD so MP flows differently.

I knew I was making a lot of characters for MP, but when I thought I'd do that I had a different concept in mind about the scenes. I wanted to move a bit away from the DoD format and not have each conversation fully rendered, but instead I was going to use 'sprites' for the conversations and only full images for H scenes and important story events. Well, that didn't work out...

But anyways... The 2 main things are the improved image quality and Connor.

So looking back, the difference between my current and my old work is huge. Right now I'm making objectively much, much better images. So as you can probably guess, more quality takes more time.
The other thing is Connor as a main character. The DoD MC was a nameless, faceless character. It was intentional. But never showing his face meant I never had to work on him in the scenes - while also the majority of the images were POV shots.
This time however, there is Connor. One more character to place and pose and do facial expressions for in every scene. POV shots are now rare, so I'm spending a lot of time figuring out and playing with camera angles. Then of course, I'm adjusting the lighting for almost every different camera angle so each render looks the best it can. This increases the amount of time it takes to make the scenes tremendously.

Oh and also, I do animations now. They take up a lot of dev time.

I understand people want more content and want it faster in this day and age. But for me, the most important thing is that I release a game with imagery that's the best I'm currently capable of making. Because otherwise I wouldn't be satisfied with my work and because I think you guys deserve the best I can make.

Well, I've gone on long enough already. If you read it all the way, props to you and thank you for taking the time to read it.

You guys are awesome, and thank you for supporting me along this long journey!

Hah, I know what he's talking about with the back and shit. I work in an office with a shitty chair and when I get home, I usually work on PC on some personal projects, play games or watch movies. DXRacer chair helps, but it's not enough. Working out is important too. Thankfully I do that to. A little bit of yoga (too bad I don't have Joyce to keep me company, it's time to find a girl again) and the gym is opening again too, so I can get back to pumping some iron (it's like cumming, as Arnold said). The overflowing amount of character (fully posing and rendering the MC included) is an unfortunate thing for the game and I always thought is slows down the story development and pacing tremendously. I was right, it seems. Hopefully in the next game, this won't be an issue. I still like the game, but there certainly are big issues in regards of pacing.

What most people have a problem/complain with is the constant teasing/blue balling & story pace. It was not an issue earlier but became one since it is now version 0.10 but there is no progress in those department. It is not really about speed of release really. The image quality have improved definitely and the animations are awesome.

I think the nature of sandbox game isnt that suitable for monthly porn games. Players want to get into the pants/skirt of the characters to feel some progress. But if you have 10 releases without achieving it then there is a lot of frustration. Keep up the good work but maybe you should reconsider the approach for this game

I don't think the sandbox is the problem, I think the main issue is as you said the constant teasing. I get why he would want to take things slow with the characters in the house, but for some of the side characters like the teacher, things could move a little bit faster.

The sandbox is a bit of an issue, because it's a little empty for the story. Not knowing if you're firing off an already viewed scene or a story-advancing scene gets tedious after a while.

I'm trying to give LL a pass on this VN (story and flow) due to the engine change and major story overhaul, as it was originally NOT an 'in-house' plotline.

What I would impress upon LL (should he read this): Your renders are enough to carry a decently fleshed out story, so next time run with your vision, and let's see what happens.

Problems of this game:
Sex: we are at version 0.10 and there's still no sex!
Story: the story is about nothing and nothing is happened and I think nothing will happen! The story of Dream Of Desire was good (come on, for a porn game it was good), was interesting, mysterious and with a great soundtrack! Here nothing..

Good things:
Everything exept story and sex. Great animations, great characters...

There is a bad influence of L&pP obviously. We are having half-accopmpished adult game with no penetrations perforemed.

I subscribe to this, I don't know where is he getting the feedback from, but the release frequency is not a problem with this game, the absurd pacing, teasing and blueballing is the only thing he should really work on.

I don't know how many update left but I think that he should extend that number drastically. No one playing this game for a single sex scene with one of the major characters. For me this is not a final prize that I'm looking or expecting for. There should be at least 3 or 4 sex scenes for each main character. And NO, I'm not talking about handjob, footjob, titfuck or blowjob here. I'm talking about vaginal penetration and butt stuff. Also MC should be able to date with the main characters at least 1 or 2 times. As a huge fan of the game and also the main cast, I want to see these kind of stuff, not some ridiculous drug story.

I guess you haven't played AWAM yet...
and what would you expect from a wife, and a mother above all...to go instantly full sex-mode on anyone with two, three or four legs, dicks not important?:BootyTime:
females mcs games are weird enough, particularly for those insecure and fragile males like me, not able to get into womans mc minds (or to distance themselves from it:unsure:), to take that even digital role, in order to fully enjoy being fucked, and all hot stuff going with it....
a bit OT kidding, yet i wouldnt compare those two games in blueballing content, as, if nothing else, there are different kind of (blue) balls/eggs involved:BootyTime:
