Don't use the following folders to extract the game to:
C:\Program Files
C:\Program Files (x86)
C:\Users
C:\Windows
This will avoid any issues with the game, including but not limited to write protection.

Okay, the first thing I noticed in the log is the path (as in the folder is in triplicate).
Try using just G:\Midnight Sin v0.8.1
Next, try using 1920x1080 as your resolution. It appears you are using 2560x1440.
Please let me know if the problem persists.

Same result. I don't have time now, but i'm going to try to download from a different site (other than viking) and see what happens.)
I did manage to get the brawler achievement, which caused no issues.

A few things you can try:
- Disabling V Sync in your Nvidia control panel (should be in "Manage 3D Settings").
- Make sure the drivers for your video card are up to date.
- And as a last resort, make sure you have the latest Visual C++ Redistributable runtimes installed. Go
You must be registered to see the linksand download the all-in-one pack from a mirror site closest to you. Extract all of the files to a temporary folder (which you can delete after installing), then run the included "install_all.bat" file.
- Go into Control Panel >> "Device Manager" >> "Display adapters". If you have more than one device showing, disable it.

Updated C++ packages. No change.
Updated VSYNC settings in Nvidia panel from Use Application Settings to Off. Fixed it!

I'm probably being a dullard but how do you manage to scroll back text in this. I've not managed to figure it out and occasionally I have double tapped past text so it would be useful to know.

Use the scroll wheel on your mouse to roll back. Though there will be some instances where you won't be able to (such as after an event or the next day).
Aha this might be why I've not experienced it. I'm using a laptop with a trackpad and rarely, if ever, have a mouse connected.

I'm not sure if using a touchpad would work, as we've never tested it before (I don't know if the other guys use laptops to beta test with, but I can ask)
**Follow-Up**
To scroll on a trackpad, use two fingers to swipe up/down or left/right (most common), or drag a single finger along the right edge or bottom edge for traditional "edge scrolling," depending on your settings and laptop model; you might need to enable these gestures in your system's Touchpad settings for Windows or Mac.

It's not easy to enter the passcode. I got 4 colors, red, purple, green and light blue. It should be 1543. But it doesn't work. Also, is not clear on how the enter that passcode... Should that number in example 1543 appear in that box under the keyboard? Can't even a picture or video on how entering that passcode. Figure out is not difficult which colour corresponding which number and which order, but I think problem is on how we enter that pass...

That is the image we used for the guide.
Looks like you just got orange and red mixed up, happens to a lot of people.
One of my old friends had a bit of color blindness and he struggled with that one, but that is also why we did the guide the way we did, just in case.

The sections for the code in the walkthrough (books and paintings) have not changed since its inclusion nearly a year ago, and the walkthrough linked in OP is for the most recent version that is out (v0.8.1). Even if you had downloaded an older copy of the walkthrough, there have been no changes to the code, paintings or books (which are related to the paintings).

The fourth book is in Olivia's possession. She gives it to you after one of her TV/Sleepover events. The 7th book is in Madeline's room. You have to see the book first, then click on it (but you won't get it at that time), then you have to go back into her room and search 7 places for the book.
I'm stuck and can't get any progress for whole week. I would appreciate if someone can provide an advice of few next steps how to make progress.
