The way the story and relationships progress and intertwine with each other (the whole café's ownership's debacle and the way almost all the girls end up over there, for example) manages to keep the player glued to the screen.
Of course, the "compelling" part is subjective: if you only liked the GOAT DanGames' previous works (incest), this one is just not for you. Maybe he's trying to cast a bigger net to increase the audience and his income with this project (and succeeding at that), but that's just a guess. Who knows what goes through the GOAT's mind.
In any case, feeling personally betrayed by him and announcing you're done with this particular game is just retarded.
Nothing i'd call compelling. It's fun but i've seen intertwining stories done on a larger scale with better characters.
As I said, it's silly fun but it's not a game that hooked me for it's storytelling. I like some of the characters and some of what goes on but I fully admit I skip through certain parts. I find the cuckolding scenario to be a bit disturbing. She clearly hates it but does it anyway, it feels forced and uncomfortable and got worse when he tries to push her into doing it over unconscious husband. I genuinely hate that part. I also don't like the part with his friends mother. She's fun and attractive but has obvious mental health problems and he pushed her into sex, that part was legit fucked up.
I like the cafe stuff, I love the oddball cop, Aurora is fun and the neighbour/neighbours daughter stuff amuses me.
As for the second part, think you quoted the wrong person. I've never said anything about being "betrayed" by the dev. I haven't played any of his previous games nor is incest my kink.
If I was in that camp I wouldn't announce it either. I have a genuine dislike for people that have to post that they are not going to play a game. I don't know why people make those post, I don't know why they don't realise nobody gives a shit what they do or don't play, it's just weird.
