The fact that the creator, did a poll for possible NTR makes me loose some respect for the dev.

Don't you know that silly saying "let money work for you"? Some people think if you put it into a safe and enough time has passed they had a nice orgy inside and more money than before can be found.

Wether or not you have a vision, most people need people interested and willing to pay for Patreon. Polls are an easy way to make that happen. If his vision is to go from A to H to T, it doesn't matter if he adds B-C-D inbetween, it's still his vison and he gets more patreons. Win-win

A game that goes from A to Z by - potentially - passing every letter of the alphabet is a game with no structure or form. How can a developper keep patreons interested if he's denaturing his game by answering everyone's need ?
What you are yearning for, with your "win-win" situation, are games without coherent narration. Those games that stay as unfinished products because their authors meddled with every groups' wishes to the point where every patreons began to despise their games.
It's like in real life : you're not looking for a race car to equip it with a trailer. Same with people : you never like people with no opinions, who follows everyone.
