It's got enough content for it to be worth playing but its looking like he might abandon that game soon
It's absolutely terrible in terms of game design. Basically often unplayable without the walkthrough, I have rarely met a game where you struggle so hard to get very simple tasks that are being asked from you.
So for instance I was supposed to make coffee, and the quest list only said "add grounded coffee", without any hint where to find it. I searched the whole kitchen and rooms and didn't find anything. Then suddenly I found it, in the long hallway of the building was the dog with the coffee behind him on the floor (for no fucking reason, how did it get there?). Then I had to find dog food and feed the dog in order to get to the coffee - something that wasn't mentioned in the quest list, also no hint on where the dog food was.
And that's what you're doing 99% of the time, asking yourself which 10 in-between steps you have to do and where all the shit lays around that you'll need for it, in order to fullfil tasks that are described like "do the laundry".
There are quests that send you 3 times in a row to the store to buy shit without any gameplay value. Example:
MC: Oh I need screws -> heads to store -> buys screws -> goes back to quest location
MC: Oh, I don't have a scredriver. Do you have one? No? Well, then I need to buy one -> heads to store -> buys screwdriver-> goes back to quest location
MC: Mh, now I need oil. I should buy some! heads to store -> buys oil -> goes back to quest location
I sat there and was like W T F? Why not let me buy everything in one go? And there is no gameplay-relevant aspect in doing these things. It just sends you around in the most annoying ways to keep you busy, as if you were playing some online game and playtime = money for the devs.
And I didn't even mention the tidious dozen tasks where you watch a progress bar crawling up 1% per second. Which means you sit there actual 1minute and 40 seconds and watch it go up. Well, maybe something inbetween like 1 minute, but I never seen any game overdoing it so brutally.
