I'll even summarize for you from what I recall, I am a bit hazy on the exact specifics but will lay it out as best I can:
Story is based around the US 'founding fathers' wanting to basically help the world. They had the greatest mind available, gave them the task to 'help mankind' and 'light the way for hope' or something like that, and then let them go. It was even a secret convention thing that the government basically carved out the land around the mansion, and all the property, etc like it was a foreign country.
Over the years, each 'great mind' found a successor (I can't recall if they are all from the same family or not) to take over and inherent everything. They have made scientific discoveries well ahead of the rest of the world, alluding to Tesla (I believe?) even stealing/using part of one of their *older* designs for his inventions into electricity. The estate has amassed so much fortune from patents and things that money is not a problem and they also have power that the group can wield quietly, along with money, to get what they want.
The downside is that the inventor/great mind can never have a family since that would distract them. I think any kids that occur are sent away to live with others or something of that nature. All of the women have basically signed over their lives and future to the 'cause' and have worked for months, years, even decades to provide support for the former great-mind (MC's great-uncle I think it was?) and set things up so the MC can continue the work.
In steps the MC, as the inheritor of this situation. His task is to carry on the research and he's provided the best food, best minds (two lady scientists), he also has to work on being physically fit since that helps boost brain power. The MC has all these great advantages, but he *also* has huge responsibilities to continue the work as his life-long goal.
So that's the back-story and the first part of the game. What we're seeing now, and have for awhile, is the day-to-day scenes that occur as the MC lives them, outside the lab and science discovery thing. The game at it's foundation is not about the historic group, the money, the power, or the science discoveries. It's all about trying to give the MC everything he wants (and since he's like late teens/early 20's at most, that's sex as the highest 'want') because when that happens he will have zero stress outside the scientific lab, he's relaxed and can devote all his energy and focus into that, which is what "The Director" is instigating all these schemes to achieve.

Then wait for the public version, the dev has always in the past released it free after so long, unless they've changed their minds on public releases.
