Recommending MiltonPowers LI & Character Guides

When it came out I dragged my ex to watch it, It's a fine movie, but if it wasn't for the fact it hits so close to home, I'd probably notch it down some places, but then again I'm a pretentious cinephile, which lowkey helped in getting that ex to become an ex... I dragged her also to watch Mulholland Drive, she really hated that one, little did she know that I at least spared her Bela Tarr's movies (and a small interview I had with him).

Oh cool, I'll write those names down. I said I hardly watch movies now but that's not cuz I dislike cinema qua cinema but cuz short of searching "best cinephile movies reddit" (lol), I'd have no idea where to explore. So this is a start!

David Lynch's movies (as well as Twin Peaks tbh) all deserve a watch, Bela Tarr's... only if you are into black and white Hungarian movies.

I noticed that Book 1 was finished, and needed to make saves transfer for the next update, so I gave up waiting and started it today. I'll be pissed if saves won't transfer. At least it will be fresh and I can skip through most of it.

I’d suggest waiting , but since you’ve already started - have fun! Unbroken is one of my favourite VNs, and STWA is one of my fav writers. Personally, I was going to play it from scratch anyway since I bought it on Steam too, so it won’t be a big deal.

Man I have good memory when it comes to video games and stories generally until X amount of time has past unless I just didn't care for the story or something. But AVN's is something else for me I play to many of them I find it doesn't take so long for me to forget stuff. Expect for my favorites which makes me wonder how people like Milton , Tony and Alex remember so much. Id have to takes notes which is why I have my own LI screenshot folder ( sadly my spreadsheet file got corrupted when it file got over 2GB) and didn't feel like trying to fix it or remake it after trying for an hour. Thankfully I got the folders and images still that is the important part spreadsheet was for fun

Well, I just have a good memory for details, probably the result of my working area. Before switching to marketing, I worked in IT (system programming is my degree), which shaped the way of thinking to some extent. Even now, in marketing, I mostly work with databases, analysing data and planning, so all of this's kind of turned my brain into a some sort of data-processing machine. I must admit, it’s a curse sometimes, cause I keep in mind all unfinished tasks or things I have to do, it bothers me and it can be a real burden sometimes.

Besides that, I have a ton of documents with different info, including LI cards, - and a main doc with 3000+ games where I add notes on important stuff like dev announced changes, new content, things I like or don’t like, tags, statuses, links, etc. I also have additional small temporary docs like name statistics, hair colour, and tier lists for LIs - that’s where I got stuck for a while, trying to make my top-100… it's an absolute hell

So yeah, whenever I have a lot of data, I get an urge to organize it in tables and it also helps me to remember. Sometimes I even prioritise it over important real-life stuff, simply cause it brings me pure joy - like a raccoon rinsing its stuff . The same goes for movies, books (lately mostly audiobooks), music, or anything that can be organised or classified.

BTW, I think I’ve reached some size limits with my LI cards too. I have a personal doc I work with and then copy it to the doc in my SIG. Lately, though, I’ve been getting server errors while trying to import data, so I thought it got corrupted, I even made a fresh copy and updated the link in my SIG. Though after wasting a few hours talking with AI, I concluded that the file was just too big and Google occasionally started having issues with it.

I'm enjoying it so far. Story = 10/10, Pathing/Variables = 10/10, Girls as friends = 10/10, Girls as Love Interests = 3/10.

I'm just not feeling anything for them. Elspeth, Vi, Amrit - I absolutely love them as friends, but can't see them romantically. My fav by an absolute mile is Serena, shame she's only SG. , but I do like Kana a lot, so she'll probably be my main save (not having met Ines yet).

I ended up splitting my files, for example, my LI guides are only 10 games per file. All others are also split to keep them manageable. At one point I had all the guides in one file and took 10 minutes to open it up. LOL.

I set up a masterfile with all the games listed in it but no info or pics to keep the size down. Each game has hyperlinks to their LI guide file, their list in the pdf file, my notes and info for each game, my saves files, my top LI file. Then I only have the masterfile open and click what I want to open, being fairly small, it's an instant open, and instant save when finished.

Agree with this a lot. I feel like more of an older brother/fatherly relationship with a lot of the girls in that game

Yeah, writing is top-notch here. The only one I’d say could compete with STWA is SQWL (Corporate Culture), - just my humble opinion, of course.

As for the girls, well… if we’re talking about main ones - my favourite girl is Innes (she’s also in my top-25). It took some time for her to grow on me though.
Viridiana? She’s fine. There’s a throuple path with Innes and Vi, wouldn’t be my main route, but it’s an interesting one to explore. They’ve got quite a chemistry.
At the same time I’m not really into Elspeth, Amrit, or Kana, romantically wise. They're fine, as a friends, or FWB until we decide to move on.

Serena… yeah, I feel you. I think she could be my main girl if she was a LI. I just really like her personality, and her scenes with MC feel so cozy and natural. Sr. PounceABunch also added some value to their relationship

Elspeth is just getting started with your Valentine, beware…
I can relate to liking Kana though, I think she's really underestimated because of Els and Ines's growing popularity. She's a great LI in her own right, and her Love path is the only one besides Els's I'm on, but she's definitely losing the battle. I've even started to deny her sex.

Yea what's this Elseth slander smh. And hmm, I'm rlly not a big Kana fan lol I've turned her down every time since the christmas scene. She's nice and all but there's a few things about her that strike me as a little off, idk how to describe it.

Like Alex and Milton said tho, Serena is amazing (and Sir Pounce A Bunch haha). Easily my second fav. I think I like those two so much more than the rest (while still great friends etc) cuz they pretty naturally banter with Valentine and there's not this explicit mentor/trainer dynamic in the relationship like there is with the others. Which I feel permeates the interactions

Been awhile since I played but sort of the same here I don't see any of them as LI. The only ones I would consider is Elspeth and Kana the others just don't feel right for me.

Kana is one of my favorites honestly but I think I like Elspeth more I don't really care for the others. Yeah my first time as you the only paths I played was Kana and Elspeth that was before I started to play every path in most games.

Well, the game has flaws. At some point, I actually considered dropping it - usually, MC drooling over one of the LIs is a dealbreaker for me. Glad I didn’t. It turned out to be more of a starting point and a motivator for MC to finally leave his bubble and get his life back. He’s already grown a lot over just a few chapters and even became somewhat confident. What I liked the most were his dialogues and interactions with Elsa - pure cinema.

If you check MT, you’ll find out - plenty of people still believe Elsa is his imaginary friend, like in Fight Club. While I disagree, I can’t blame them, and reading all those theories was interesting.

Yeah, it’s sad indeed. To hell with the game - I just hope he’s alive.

Yeah I had one of my long posts in there, pointing out how I absolutely like the setting (been in corporate for most of my working life), but considering also how slowly the releases were going, I saw no real growth in the MC, starts as a broken hearth idiot, ends as a drooling idiot.

And yes totally agree to hell with the AVN, as I posted there too, there's plenty of other AVNs we can enjoy, there's only ever one of each of us, once/if we are gone... that's it.

Also since now I feel sad, sharing something, mostly for anker11 , this is a long take of 9 minutes, a piece of art from Bela Tarr, if you can get past these scenes (or even better if you like them), then you'll love his movies.
