for some peoples this was happening because of old/corrupted save files
we did a fix in 0.2.8 and made a button to remove old save files
if you can go and delete setting/save files manually i hope this will fix the issue
If you get asked to upgrade to pro, click on the item until you get to a 'normal' single item MediaFire page and you can download it for free.
game opens to a black screen with music playing and before someone asks this in on a new pc with no preview saves

The old saves are giving the problems in the continuation of the new quests so start the game again or get a new save file
