That would suck. Why bother having a relationship points system, if you can't even have real relationships with them. It kinda contradicts and defeats the whole purpose of it.Sadly yes you are.
Reason:
It is established through other games that you gain "relationship points" with side chicks as well.
Meaning those points don't mean shit for the determination about who is (Main) LI and who is not.
Just what character had the most possible interactions set by the dev up until that point.
Whether a character is on that list or not does not mean shit.
LI stands for love interest. What does it means - L.I.?

Yes and No.That would suck. Why bother having a relationship points system, if you can't even have real relationships with them. It kinda contradicts and defeats the whole purpose of it.
Relationship =/= being a couple or intimate. Being friends or mere acquaintance are also forms of relationship. That would suck. Why bother having a relationship points system, if you can't even have real relationships with them. It kinda contradicts and defeats the whole purpose of it.
That's true. But I don't think people play these games looking for friends or mere acquaintances. The developers of these sort of games know (or should know) what the players are looking for in their "relationships."Relationship =/= being a couple or intimate. Being friends or mere acquaintance are also forms of relationship.
"Love is just a chemical, but we give it meaning by choice."- Eleanor Lamb from Bioshock 2.Men and the main character, too - have sexual interest, not love interest.
Love doesn't exist, babe. It's only part of nature - to make new generations, that's all.
Wrong. You have very bad education. The meaning of "love" came into Europe in the period of Romanticism, in 19th century. Before this there wasn't the meaning of such thing as love. Romeo & Juliet, two teenagers, before this, thought in very different way. It's just our interpretation ourdays, that they "loved" each other in romantic way.
Actually, the concept of love dates back to ancient BC times. The ancient Greeks, for example, divided it into several categories: Agape, which translates to "love of the soul." Eros, which translates to "love of the body." Philia, which translates to "love of the mind." They even had concepts such as Storge, which describes the love of parents for their children, and Xenia, which is the love of hosts for their guests. You have very bad education. As Buddy in the Incredibles said:If I were to go purely by the relationship points system, I would say that all the women in the game are main LIs, except for Felvia, Rachel's mom, and Lenny's sister. But as Brannon pointed out, this may not necessarily be the case.

I think having a large amount of potential love interests could work. As long as the player was limited in how many he could have at one time. Forcing the player to stay within that limit could keep urgency and drama alive. As Buddy in the Incredibles said:

Same concept applies here.
There are ... let's call it quite the number of girls in the game. If everybody aside 3 or 4 are main LI the story does lose a lot in urgency and drama. The latter maybe returns to a degree in the form of pointless bitching.
For that reason there is a number of main LI's in regular AVN's and a bigger number of side LI's.
Nina, Rachel and Sofia are relatively sure as main LI's.
Other girls may be or may not be.
As said the number of main LI's is relatively limited and that is the reasoning of the question.
