If it seems like I'm coming off as too emotional for a 'game', deal with it, or don't read.
I've loved this game for some time, and now that I feel I'm nearing the end... I'm actually feeling betrayed.
You took the MC. Built it up as a wolf that evolves into eventually taking over a pack. Gave an explanation that a Harem type relationship was a big part of the pack tradition which, in all fairness, is basically what a pack "generally" is...a grouping consisting of the Alpha who takes care of, and shares love and responsibility with the pack.
Now with this being an adult game, I understand having offshoot possibilities of fully loving only one person. And in Emily's case, choosing to accept responsibility and showing loyalty to the pack instead of an individual, while disappointing, Emily respects the decision and stays amiable with the MC regardless. I'd even understand if someone took the decision harshly and left the situation with animosity.
But. Killing off a character simply because the MC chooses not to completely love JUST that individual??? FUCK YOU! It's not acceptable.
It's not only lame, but I believe it brings down the mood for the whole rest of the game for anyone who've had the tiniest bit of feelings towards that character. It's the coward's way out of continuing a story-line, and in my perspective, shits on every one of your readers after spending so much time getting into the combined story-lines and feelings of it all. Yes it's a choice to make, however, seeing at which point in the story it's been put, with no preparation of the reader for such a drastic turn...
Again. FUCK. YOU.
I'm actually afraid of continuing on now, because I can't trust that another sudden heart-wrenching betrayal won't show up to ruin another moment. And after reading one of the reviews mention Nina leaving to go back to her ex after everything that her and the MC's gone through, I'm not sure what to think other than you decided to fuck up the ending of an (almost) perfectly written story.
I know it's a bit foolish to be so critical of an "Adult VN", but with so many others out there considered to be Completed and the whole thing ends up being garbage, I thought that at least this one, being written so well, would be satisfying. It seems I was wrong.
