Agreed. Isn’t Venefica the strongest Npc in the game right now with maxed out stats? I doubt we’d get a boss fight with her anytime soon and frankly, I don’t want it either. Would be too rushed imo.

i would prefer to become Venefica´s familiar and betray Elly.
it could be good to have te option to meet Venefica before the fight and tell everyting about Elly and make her fall in to a trap to make her Venefica´s second slave and have a loyalty reward scene with Venefica in front of Elly.

The Venefica movement thing actually has nothing to do with the labyrinth's intended design xD
This update def took longer than it should have due to an assortment of reasons.
And there are things I do behind the scenes, but not normally for future updates with the exclusion of art.
Things have just not really gone smoothly.
So no I'm not really doing much for the labyrinth pre-emptively aside from the art.

No worries about things happening behind the scenes. Game development is never as smooth as 1-2-3 and a lot of thigs can happen not just in making it but also real life issues. If anything, I'm pretty sure people are only critical here because they love your work so much and want to see it rise to the height of being one of the best text based monster girl games ever.

Imho, this game already rivals the works of CoC and TiTS and can only go up from here with every new content update.

I'm not gonna lie I really just wanted to make that witch sandwich pun, but that pretty much would be the perfect outcome! I'd really love to see the two of them interact more, maybe collaborating together to make some new sweets to use on the protagonist?

Uhh... so if I understood that correctly you want an opinion on what parts of the game the players consider to be "stellar writing" to help you make a mod? I AM a big fan of the mods for this game and I have all the playable mods downloaded so I don't mind providing my own opinion.
The most important thing would probably be that it's not one specific part that is a good piece of literature, but rather the whole area or even the story itself is interconnected, always leaving you guessing about the next place you're gonna go. I've already drawn up countless scenarios in my head for the demon city and even the witch coven.
What I personally like most about this game is just how good the characters are fleshed out. They feel so real unlike most other femdom games where the woman just goes "haha step step"
Also, there's alot of variety in how to get the h-scenes. You can lose, you can win, you don't need to fight, you can take a walk, heck you could go to sleep.

You say that you find MGD writing to be less than stellar, and I would say I think the opposite, BUT I want to know what games/scenes in games you do consider to have stellar writing?

It's a little difficult for me to really give any decent examples of quality writing that can be matched 1-1 with a medium like Monster Girl Dreams (largely since MGD is currently the best one I've actually found so far in its niche), but I think I can provide a few examples worth studying.

Since this game is text-based and thus reads/plays more like a highly interactive Visual Novel than anything else, I'd recommend looking in that direction for inspiration and getting a general idea on how to write "choice based" smut. Keep in mind however that VNs, as their name suggests, are a bit more like books. The big ones have hours of content for you to read, since they need time to establish a setting and characters and all that jazz. MGD's stuff tends to be more bite-sized and is given through player interaction, instead of being fed to you like in a typical story. The most text-heavy character is probably Kotone, and the overall design of the experience is vastly different from actually straight-up reading a book. It's more like a CYOA/Quest than anything else, to be perfectly honest; a type of interactive story where you read stuff, make choices, and read more stuff based on those choices.

So yeah. Quests. Look into those; you'll find them all over the place on different forums. When it comes to smut, I use Questionable Questing. When it comes to just wanting to read regular content, Spacebattles or Sufficient Velocity, though that isn't to say that there aren't plot-heavy porn quests on QQ.
However, that's still way more text in-between choices than most - if not all - characters in MGD. You'll honestly have to figure out what a good balance feels like on your own; how long you should write for in each section, how in-depth these interactions should be, how to set up and atmosphere... there's all kinds of fine work and quality control, which you can only really check once you show it to someone else/have enough skill to make good judgement calls on the matter. If you do end up making a mod, I'd be more than happy to write a review on it. Just tell me if you want me to be completely and utterly scathing or more light-hearted in tone, either way is fine with me.

To simplify; right off the top of my head (there's probably more you've got to take into consideration than this, keep that in mind), here are some things you've gotta look out for:

All this is written assuming that you want a big, expansive mod/character; someone that would have as much depth as... let's use Kotone, or maybe even Sofia, as a benchmark. It's pretty daunting, but please don't feel pressured to write something like that. The most important thing is to enjoy yourself in the process. If you aren't happy writing it, what makes you think the audience will be happy playing it? It's that kind of sentiment. So yeah, bottom line, just write what you enjoy!

That's awesome mate. I am trying to make one similar to Oneiros. I like mods that use existing game images and characters to deliver new content. Somehow, seeing differently drawn images breaks continuity for me. It's just my personal thought process. I am not trying to discourage others.

Damn Pale Priestess was good. I'll be honest the only problem I have with most of the mods of this game is that they are too short XD. I wish there were more like Beach Party that had an area dedicated to the mod or at least a few NPC/monsters instead of just one.

Also, can anybody tell me how the broken mods work? Kinda wanna play them. If I download a previous version of the game (v20.5) will that work out?

Most mods are small indeed, but even a single character like Euryale or Mari usually means a few months of work, if not more, particularly if you start delving in original and complex stuff. Night Gaunt, for example, was the fruit of a few weeks of joint work between Oluap and yours truly, being a simple enough fight with a no-frills event to introduce it. Compare it to something like Mari or Pale Priestess, with variables, original art, detailed combat events, multiple scenes, etc. and you can imagine how much chonkier such projects are! And of course, unlike Threshold, modders can't work on their projects full-time, and aren't as used to working on MGD as The Man Himself... but I digress.

Concerning broken mods, yes, using an old version of MGD would work, but you'd also have to create a character from scratch; the game will not take kindly to recent saves. Moreover, most broken mods are unfinished, bare-bones, or depreciated, so I wouldn't personally recommend them, other than for the sake of curiosity or nostalgia. Ultimately, it's up to you, though!

yeah i'm way too lazy to make a mod and i can't draw pictures not even stick figures....
but i would pay for a mode that has:
a waifu like vili and is about fighting angels and head patting the goddess
also cgs for the stances and nude pics
(10-15$ top im poor)

Ha ha, the fundamentals are not that complicated, honestly. Most anyone can do it if they're willing to dedicate time and energy to it. Though it indeed gets complex if you want to do something fancy and/or mechanically involved.

And at the end of the day, it is work indeed. Those scenes don't write themselves! ^^ So knowing that people are playing and enjoying your mod is always a joy. And feedback is always tremendously appreciated!
