v26.9a is now out for bug fixing!

will also catch up in missed messages soonish

Honestly not a fan. Makes it a bit harder to parse. I'd rather just have it in the dialogue box.
Not a big fan of this overhaul, makes it a bit too easy to lose track of the damage, it was more trackable when it wa in the dialogue box. Not a real big gripe, tho, more a detail.
That's quite fair, may do some variations on it to have in options to toggle between, or other improvements, though in dialogue box def not an option at this point with the issues it was causing.

Okay I'm caught up.

Also for the femdom/maledom talks, MGD is meant to overall be more femdom leaning game with the content, but I definitely do try to have a mix of things, as well as a number of more mutual scenes. With some characters leaning more one way or the other.

I don't know if having patreon stretch goals like anyone can request x content was at all advisable
Only thing I feel needs a direct response cause I'm confused and not sure if I'm misunderstanding/misreading this part of the post, but I've never ever had those kind of stretch goals or support tiers on patreon or substar?

I wish there was a way for us who don't use discord to get our hands on the discord mods. Sounds like I'm missing out on a lot.
Links for them used to work on the wiki until discord decided to explode that feature. :(
And not all the modders want to mess with ins and outs of file hosting.
The likely eventual 'ideal' solution is probably to get the game on steam with workshop support if I can. Maybe. But even then not everyone's gonna wanna slap MGD into their steam account.

This might be a stupid question, but is there a reason Belle sometimes doesn't wear a bra and sometimes she does? Is it a sign of anything?
It's mostly a random variation in her art, in part to represent she didn't put it back on after going to the milker.

Honestly wish we could play as a female since I'd want to self insert :/
Understandable, though it's definitely outside of the scope of what I'll be adding to the game.
I've also watched at least 5 different people try to make a mod that does it. Such a mod doesn't exist yet.

Yeah, a lot of cowards out there... personally, if I could spend $10 or whatever on Steam for a final version of this game and get ALL my old no-longer-supported mods back, well (sound of wallet opening).

I'm waiting for the day when Azure Blaze no longer works (spoiler: haven't tried 26.9 yet...)... that will be a day of mourning in my house. Bad enough I lost The Plappening.

v26.9 is finally now out, featuring a new Capital event called 'A Fashionable Encounter', lots of new Amy content, an updated 'Ambush her' scene for Sofia featuring new art, a close-up CG for Selena, a visual overhaul to damage display, and a bunch of Balancing, QoLs, and Fixes!

I'll actually properly catch up on the thread on monday or tuesday.

As for people here who care given they don't usually keep track of patreon/substar posts even if free one usually, this one took a while due to: sick for a week, then near end of last month I lost power for an entire week which stopped me from finishing update when I planned on it, and killed any April 1st plans I had, then I got food poisoning from food I ordered in after said power outage was over, then as finishing up the update I deemed the visual overhaul to damage mandatory or this probably could have been done on like, Wednesday.

I hope everyone's having a great day!
Outrageous! Next thing you probably say is you're an human being that celebrated easter with his family! I can't even!

... ;)

Glad you feel better and I hope you had a few nice easter days regardless of having been under the weather! :)

I load a save I made in Town and it directly loads in the dungeon in front of Sofias door? I mean thats the first planned move anyway but it does sem unintended.

edit: Seems just with the save from the 26.8 version; the other older town saves loads properly. When going back and saving in town it loads there normally too.

Even with all the unfortunate events eating up a months worth of time, that's still 2 months for 2 pieces of content actually done by Thresh, everything else was written by Valentino according to the patchnotes (and even 2 scenes in the most meaty part of the content were done by them). While Thresh's writing has certainly improved dramatically since the early days, it feels like he has slowed down more than he has improved. At the rate we're going MGD wont be done for a very long time if it takes about a month per scene for the primary writer, unless more and more is taken over by Val. Valentino's scenes are very good mind you, but I can definitely tell when they aren't Thresh's.

Personally I hope we can strike a middleground, I know we wont get speeds like before Venefica with the new writing standards, but Id wanna see MGD done before the decade is over at least.

In my opinion, you're doing everything great. Player defeated - player dominated. Player wins? He does the same thing.
And the communication with the "named" characters is also nicely done, there are both dominant and softer moments with many of them..
Keep it up as you doing right now! Love your game, man.

I second this, but i also appreciate the honest reply, that it would be too much. It is good when an artist knows how to stay focused instead of spreading themselves thin.
I'll just hope that somebody else gets inspired to make a similar game with a female mc.

I feel like there is a nice mix of encounters that feel consistent and adding encounters just to cover certain kinks should come second to creating engaging characters.
Your game is in my top 3 of all erotic games. It shows steady development and is worth returning to every few updates. Thank you for providing something worth looking forward to.

PS: Please consider adding level drain options sometime soonish. I don't like feeling like a bully, just because i might have played the game a bit too much...

Level drain sounds like something that is not going to happen unless it just ignores level up perks.

Mgd could be finished before the decade since most games drastically reduce in content the further you go from the start. Think about how many girls you meet in the first 4 sections (forest, forrest dungeon, mountain, mountain dungeon), than compare it to the caverns or labyrinth.
This would allow the game to finish faster over time in general, and maybe thresh will stop doing chores and create arbitrary rules his discord members hate and pick up the pace like he said he would uhhh, was it last year?
Val becoming a co-author has been a long time coming, he's been doing proof reading and editing for a while now, Personally I don't care as long as the quality is maintained, more people working on the game is something I also suggested thresh looks into.
Either thresh wants to focus on the game while leaving more of the writingto val, or he just wants to do less lol.

TBH, I think that MGD (Female Edition) would be an amazing undertaking for a modder, but I agree it shouldn't be mainline, since it literally doubles the work (if not more). I also miss self-inserting, but this is hot enough that's it's hard for me to care.

As far as being inspired, I do play Moncurse for similar reasons but it is a different game.

On a self-centered note...Witch Quest was...kind of like this, but I'm asexual, so the monster encounters were more focused on feeling good/hypnosis than sexual pleasure. I'm kicking around another couple ideas, but unfortunately I'm not going to put out something that doesn't have good art, and I don't have the money for art.

PS: Ushiris is the best character and it's not close.

Hiya! I'm the Valentino.

I did write a lot of this update's content, that being the big Amy update + two scenes for the Fashionable Succubus, but that's content that Threshold always reviews and gives feedback on personally. Moreover, although the writing is one of the more prominent aspects of the game, it's far from the only one.

In addition to designing the plot, planning out content, coming up with the characters, implementing the new art, and many, many other more or less visible aspects of game development (such as the UI overhaul that came with this update), Threshold also handles community management, all the legal and administrative aspects of the game's development, contact with the artists, etc.

Despite me having been more and more involved in editing and writing content for the game, MGD mostly remains a solo project, and wearing so many hats is no easy task... Not to mention all the imponderables that can get in the way, such as power shortages and sickness in this case, which were the reasons for the update being delayed.

You say "2 pieces of content", but designing, implementing, and playtesting an entirely new fight from the ground-up is no easy task, and actually involves a lot of writing (dialog, reaction to player skills, specific lines for when the player cums, etc.), even if it's unlikely that a single player will see all of it.

All that to say that progress on MGD is alive and well, and is continuing at a pace that Threshold is endeavoring to keep as sustained as possible.

Meanwhile, I support said progress with editing and writing, and I'm happy that they seem to be well-received by the community... Thanks for the praise on that front, by the way!

I hope that's a helpful response to the concerns you've voiced, and thank you again for your appreciation!

Even if it was burnout, I'd understand.

The amount of work the early game must've taken just seems absolutely insane to me. I think Thresh needs all the support he can get and you're doing a great job at that.

Just putting this out there, but if you think he's taken on too much personal responsibility and you feel like the game's overall development has slowed down at all, wouldn't it be better to get more help though? Obviously I don't know what the financial situation's like over there, and I can tell Thresh has a distinct vision for the game since he denies people's requests that are outside the scope of it. That being said, your writing has been great.

I first noticed it with the extra scenes added to Belle the Minotaur tavern owner. You fit his writing style very well. Just saying, if you can mesh well with him w/o comprimising on his design intentions it might be possible to lower the burden on his shoulders.

Wouldn't blame you if you couldn't tho. People are expensive. Especially nowadays. Just a thought.

Hello and thanks for the kind words!

Making an entire game is indeed a big task, especially when it's a whole RPG like MGD. I don't know what the word count is at this point, but it's likely above a million (and that's for writing alone, without including all the coding parts), which is... a lot.

Just to get this out of the way, though, I don't "think he's taken on too much personal responsibility" or that "the game's overall development has slowed down at all". The game's development is steadily continuing, and though it may have been faster at some points in the past, it's also led to burnout, which happened when Thresh knuckled down to make the Venefica content in one big go, and severely overworked himself in the process, which he's been doing his best to avoid since.

As for bringing more people on board, that's actually been considered and attempted many times in the past, but is easier said than done! Finding contributors who have the time, energy, motivation, skill, and inspiration to write for MGD regularly is much harder than it may seem, and has led to several unsuccessful attempts. Contributing to the game requires not only writing chops, but also a style fitting MGD's, in addition to knowledge of how the whole .json implementation works. In the worst cases, hitting a dead end with a potential contributor can be a drain on Thresh's time, energy, and finances, so it must always be considered carefully.

All that to say that it's far from being as simple as "Money goes in, MGD scenes come out." (Not saying that's what you meant, but that's the tl;dr.)

Also, I'll mention that I wasn't actually the one who wrote the Belle scenes! That was Zhuan, who is mentioned in the Credits and has contributed scenes to MGD for Belle, Camilla, the Kunoichi Trainee, and more! I did edit those scenes, though.

Played Moncurse a year ago and liked it a lot, but wanted to wait until it is more fleshed out. Should probably give it another whirl.

I am also Ace, strictly fictophile but especially attracted to the taboo and creativity of monster girl media.
If you are into feel good hypnosis, Tabitha has some trance scenes. Also Kotone (probably my actual favorite) starts with feel good hypnosis. Still have to pronounce Amy the goodest of girls because she is just adorable and there are so few monstrous monster girls.

If you have a desire to create, you could start out without any art. MGD also started out with barely any art. I still remember, when it only had description boxes. Flexible survival took ages to add pictures. Degrees of Lewdity actively decided against giving the npcs graphics, to leave their appearance to the players imagination.

Good news!
I'm pretty sure I discovered the problem being due to the mod-breaking update 25.6 by Thresh. I edited my mod to fix it. I playtested it myself and it worked now. This means however that the file I provide here is only compatible with version 25.6 and newer versions of the game. This version of the mod is not compatible with version 25.2 or earlier of the game (it is probably not compatible with any version prior to 25.6 but I haven't tested that much).
Yo, rn I'm playing the mod on Android and I'm not seeing the images from the mod, probably because it's on Android but I just wanna see if there's a way I can fix it.
