And that's why I hate most MGE fanfic authors, instead of thinking of an interesting and fun story in this scenario, they all decide to write dark things because "a good story needs tragedy". (damn, recently a fanfic was posted that is literally the mamonos committing accidental genocide against the humans of Earth, because our reality has no mana, so "all the miraculous effects of the mana mamono don't work here"). Since KC has already made it clear that the mana mamono spreads like a virus, even if they went to a reality without mana, the simple act of them going there would contaminate that world with mana

Yeah they're all dumbasses, and it's why KC got fed up and came out with those guidelines saying you're flat-out not allowed to make MGE fan material that doesn't line up with the right fetishes. They quite literally ruined it for everyone, because while KC's kinks are pretty goated, the guidelines disallow basically ANY variance from the source material, which sucks because while I do like what he's come up with I think it does get a little too samey at times for fan material to stay interesting.
Of course, the NTR fuckers likely did it just to piss KC off in the first place, so mission accomplished, I guess.

For real. MGE is one of the very few monster girl settings that doesn't revolve around the exact same snuff and femdom shit. You'd think they could accept that and move on, but nah - that would require some degree of maturity.
Speaking of fanfiction, i can't take any talk about the setting being quite horrific or similar seriously
People read too much into it (or most likely, too little). Anything can seem horrific if you're an idiot and intentionally read too much into it. KC's made it clear the setting is supposed to be an ideal sex fantasy, and that's all it is. Sure there are some things in the setting that look bad if you really dissect them, but if they were 100% fluff it would be utterly boring, and all the potential unfortunate outcomes that could arise simply WON'T, because it's a happy sex fantasy.
For example, monster girls only giving birth to other monster girls COULD potentially lead to the extinction of the human race... but it won't, because that would suck and be unhappy. It's just part of the world-building, because if you're in a fantasy where the appeal is that it's populated by monster girls, why WOULDN'T you want any of your potential kids to be more of those same monster girls instead of a boring human boy? That way you're also guaranteed to get to raise a cute monster girl daughter to raise
and you know, also opens up the route for incest on top of your cute wife. That just makes it even better.
