Shame a lot of people are put off just because it's an RPG. It's a really fun game. The gameplay is a huge improvement over the original.

Technically Paradox isn't really a nukige. At least not according to VNDB. The plot isn't second to the h-content.
Didn't say anything about Paradox being a nukige, guy was talking about the original one and how it's having different artists. But anyho, yeah apparently it's not a nukige anymore in VNDB.

I assumed since he was asking if Paradox was the same you were referring to Paradox as well as the original. My bad. I apologize.
Honestly, the original being a nukige never made sense to me. The game has a decent plot and the unavoidable sex scenes all serve to progress the plot or Luka's relationship with Alice. At no point is the plot secondary to the sex scenes.

It's funny though, the reason why it's made was just because of the monster girl pandering, but for some reason torotoro actually delivered a good and interesting plot which made it popular back in the time. I remember how I had a non-sexual excitement as I was playing the game for the first time, good times. Came for the monster girls but stayed for the plot.

Indeed.
I came for the monster girls and stayed for the monster girls though. I like the plot. But I don't think I would've cared as much if I wasn't ''punished'' for losing. XD

I was the same at the start, then as it progresses I slowly got interested at the story. Man, when I was playing this I had tissues ready for some long ass session but then when it reached at that one part where this song plays,
made me use tissues for a different purpose. Still got all those scenes by abusing the save function though, heh, good times.

That's fair. I liked the story a lot, but I didn't consider it anything special. I also don't really like Alice so I didn't feel any attachment there either. The combination of generic anime/JRPG tropes with h-content was what really hooked me. It's as if every enemy in Dragon Quest suddenly decided to rape you. Without the porno setting the world takes place in I probably wouldn't have had the patience to deal with that tedious battle system. :p
I savescummed like a motherfucker. I also jacked off at least once to every single scene. Made it my personal challenge. XD

''Finished'' is a strong word. A lot of h-scenes, monsterpedia entries and probably some other more minor things are still untranslated for the time being. They're just moving on to Part 2 now to do the story. And to figure out a way to transfer their current work.

The post says it is the final patch for part 1 so I thought it was for all of part 1 but guess not.

Yeah, you're not the only one who thought that. Unfortunately it's not. Part 1 will get translated fully, just not the standalone version. The merged Part 1 and 2 will be fully translated. Well, unless Part 3 comes out before they finish that. In which case the merged version of all three will be fully translated. But for now Part 2's story takes precedence.
Kind of a bummer. Was hoping they'd fully translate Part 1 and then I could replay it and 100% it while they were working on Part 2. Oh well.

just put this game in your to do list and come back in 5 years
2 years tops depending how fast part 3 is finished i reckon they've got through the translation pretty fast all things considered. Some translation projects progress and an abysmally slow rate compared to this.

Boy, there must be something wrong with me then. Usually in games like these I try my best not to lose. And most of the time I succeed.

Usually in games like these you HAVE to lose to enjoy the H. Luckily not the case for Paradox. You can view any enemy's rape scene in the Library after you beat them once. Though I must admit, I still ''lose'' sometimes. It's just so much more thrilling. Especially since Luka's friends berate him.

Damnit really? Aww, I was really hoping all the S Link stuff with all the monsters was done...

Yeah, most of the requests are still untranslated. Rogue said his priority with the h-scenes is to do the new monsters first, since most of the old ones have the same scenes they had in the original, with the occasional different line of dialogue.
