So they make you go through the first two games imageless? Man... I'll just wait for an official "MERGED" version from the dev lol. Also I had hoped he would've at least changed engine, but no, using VxAce in 2024? What kind of savage is that...

On Paradox specifically, it feels like it tried to go complex but ended up in the territory of convoluted instead. OG MGQ could not handle complexity, and Paradox trying to push even further into it ended up with predictable results. Much like how a character's intelligence in a story is limited to the writer's intelligence, the complexity of any given story is also limited by the writer's ability to actually understand and weave complex elements into a narrative that doesn't come out a jumbled contradictory mess of that requires lots of contrivances to brute force through places where they've written themselves into a corner (got a lot of this feeling during the 3rd route).I agree because this is likely true, but also disagree on the grounds that it's not a good argument.
First, i have to make the distinction that Mgqp isnt a 'casual and lighthearted' game, it's a lazy game, the difference being is that one series intentionally keeps things brief and ssurface level with the intention of creating an easy and engaging experience, the latter simply can't actually be bothered to elaborate on characters or world building, mgqp is the latter.
Second, mgqp being a lighthearted game that doesnt take itself too serioussly is wrong, hold on, it's probably true, but its wrong because it makes no sense.
A game, where the main plot is about saving the multiverse from a slow and grueling death because of entropy, where along the way you will be raped, killed, eaten, raped and eaten at the same time THEN killed, can hardly be called a 'non serious' game
Lastly, mgqp takes itself VERY seriously, almost too much, the level of angst some portions of the game have along with the general premise of part 3 along with some art pieces, while very well made, seem like something you'd come up with in highschool. I agree that the fact that mgqp doesn't take itself seriously is prob the intention, but it's actual nature is so contradictory that i can't fully agree with the statement.
All in all, the game's flaws can't be refuted like that, you can easily have a casual but good story, this game is hardly that, and personally, if you came from the original mgq trilogy and expected deep and profound plots, i agree, you're definitely an idiot in that case, none of the stuff that's been discussed in this thread is actually that deep either, which reflects the nature of the game.
It's what makes me want to label these games as unserious and is also the reason my non-critical takes on it rely solely on parts that are purely unserious. Their strengths don't lie in telling a complex or serious story and it shows when you look at all the problems that the writing runs into when you throw in parallel worlds, alternate dimensions, time travel, manifestations of conceptual and fundamental forces, etc.
Something being complex doesn't automatically make it good, and trying to introduce complex elements haphazardly into a story will just drag the writing down from all the issues you run into if you try to take them all into account. The writing is at its worst when it either ignores the parts that are inconvenient to address or contrives a way to move past it.
I can't get it to work on joiplay. I works fine on PC. The 3.00 version works fine with joiplay. But bobs version keeps getting script errors and NotImplementted errors. Could you possibly upload the translated bobs version that works with joiplay?

then i pressed the patcher
it says decrypting but i've been decrypting probably nothing for the past hour
i give up i wasted an entire day hoping to play an entire session just to be horrendously delayed

this is just the mega i didnt touch anything yet i didnt put my saves i just clicked the patcher
whenever i open my latest save file its just jp text no translation just entire thing becomes jp i really have no idea what im doing and this always happens

But, if you haven't played the game, nor planning to play it, then why make a critical review about it? If you don't care about the game, then, why don't you just leave it be? Again, I'm not trying to get anyone's nerves, make anyone angry or anything. Just wondering why that this discussion is needed on a forum topic on a game download.

I mean, its his opinion that also makes sense, you go on 4chan and most people there despite liking the game would agree with him
To anyone who just wanted to unlock the scene you can go to Luka's house/Inn then go to the bed , face the pillow at north and you can click the switch to unlock all scene
