Ok, so the challenge here is to lay out everything I did this week without it turning into an incoherent mess. Let’s watch me fail at that.

If I were easier on myself, I’d probably be happy with what I accomplished this week. The truth is, I’m not easy on myself, and I still wish I were closer to the beta build.

I still have about 90 renders and one animation left in my render queue, so it’ll be a few days before those are finished. That said, I managed to complete post work on 2,056 stills, and they’re now implemented in the game build.

That milestone allowed me to start playtesting this section of the game and begin placing music and sound effects. On the music front, I still have around 14 tracks left to complete, but this week I created 20 new tracks for the game, which I’m pretty happy with.

I also finished the menu animation for this episode, which ended up taking a big chunk of my week. I had to learn a lot in Blender to create the environment and the motion I envisioned for the menu screen, but I’m happy with how it turned out. At least now I’ve got ideas for future animations that will make things easier next time around.

There are also some quality-of-life improvements coming in this update. The biggest one is a toggle to turn off save names, which I know many people have wanted since the beginning. I also improved the phone UI and added a stat to show whether a girl is a main or side character so you can better track side girls as they appear. On top of that, I gave several UI elements a facelift to make them more thematic, including a new text box design that feels more on-brand.

Looking ahead, I’ve still got music to finish, post work to complete once the final renders are done, and a few unlockable renders I want to add for this episode. I also plan to include a new end screen that updates players on relationship points and key choices made during their playthroughs. So yeah, it’s going to be a busy week.

Playtesters are now diving into Moonlight!

Once I recover from the emotional trauma of fixing bugs and typos, I’ll (hopefully) be able to share a release date. Keep your eyes peeled!

Hi everyone,

I’m really happy to finally announce the release dates for Episode Two and to let you all know that Moonlight: Season One is now available to .

This is a huge step for the project and something that will really help Moonlight reach more people. Wishlisting the game is one of the best ways to boost its visibility on Steam, so if you’ve been enjoying the journey so far, please take a moment to add it to your wishlist. Every single one genuinely helps the game grow.

I’m aiming to have Season One completed by the end of 2026, and while I haven’t fully decided what form that will take yet, I’ll continue sharing regular updates, dev logs, and special renders along the way. Whether it ends up being two big releases, several smaller updates, or one huge drop, my focus will always be on delivering new content as frequently as humanly possible.

I’m proud to have released two major updates this year while still working on the game part-time. It’s been a massive effort, but one made possible by this community. Whether you’ve supported through Patreon, joined the discussions on Discord, or simply followed along and shared kind words, you’ve all helped keep me motivated and reminded me why I love doing this.

Firstly, I want to thank everyone who has wishlisted Moonlight on Steam. This really helps with the visibility of the game, and I appreciate every single one of you who’s taken the time to do it.

I also want to clarify the release times, as many of you in the Homicide Detective Tier will be getting early access tomorrow. The launch time is 5 PM GMT, so keep your eyes peeled. The game will be available to the Forensic Scientist Tier on November 21st at 5 PM GMT.

This week I’ve mostly been focused on making final tweaks before release. The biggest issue I had to fix was in the Charlie date scene, where 155 renders were missing her eyelashes. It wasn’t as noticeable as you might think thanks to her eye makeup, but it was something I couldn’t leave unfixed. The process was time-consuming, as each scene takes around 6–8 minutes to load, and I had to apply the lashes and spot render them into the original shots. It took me three and a half days, but I’m really happy with the result.

A couple of fellow devs have been kind enough to offer some cross-promotion, which gave me the chance to play through their VNs so I could confidently recommend them to you all. The cross-promo post will go live around the same time as the Forensic Scientist release.

I’ve also started planning out the scene flow for the next episode and updating the beat sheet for the whole game. This will make it easier to access story details when I start writing again. I’m so excited for more of you to play the new update. The early feedback from testers and devs I’ve shared builds with has been really positive.
