Does anyone know what kind of AI is used in these types of games? I mean, is it an AI that tells you the story with images and all that stuff?

Well I have to admit that I didn't understand it much, I was just curious about how it was done hahaha
yea, no sweat. asking "what AI did you use?" is one of those questions where it's actually extremely complicated to answer. having watched BCG's production video and working with AI art myself, the gist is:

- generate images using stable diffusion (a locally-running instance of an AI model)
- spend a lot of time in photoshop making them look good, compositing, fixing faces, fingers and clothes
- train loras and custom models to minimize #2 as much as possible, but knowing that some manual tweaking will always be necessary (and will be the largest time expense in any good project)
- animations and writing are done 100% manually

if you are interested in generating AI images yourself with stable diffusion, you gotta start with youtube and watch a few hours worth of videos before you can even start, really. it's not very straightforward

When will your wife give birth? Buddy, you have to hurry her up. We need you. I'm sick of waiting until summer or the end of spring.
Mid April is the date. Not gonna before April lol. You don't want your child to be born prematurely my dude :)

I'm working on the last couple of scenes for episode 4 rn now, then I'm starting on ep5 to do as much as I can before the baby comes because when it comes i'll be out for like 2 weeks.
That's why I want to release ep4 when baby because I can then presumably release ep5 in a timely manner after that.
If I release it next week, then I would have to pump af for ep5 to be released pre-baby, and ep6 would then take longer.

Maybe I'm just complicating my life trying to have a release schedule, I don't know man. I could just release shit as I finish it and don't give a fuck about a steady release cadence. Some other devs don't subscribe to pre-set release schedules and still do very well.

Good summation.
To be fair manual editing to the point of that video is not always needed, but you often have to for consistency.
I still don't use loras for characters, which is a problem honestly, because I then often struggle with likeness especially when it comes to side characters.
And yep, animations and writing is all me.
I'm looking into 2D mesh animations now, so I'm trying to learn that too. Maybe in the future episodes I can include it. That means smoother animations, more than 2-3 frames per loop like I have now.

IMO, do whatever you want man in terms of release schedules.
I know I'll definitely be back to support when you turn tiers back on.. also you should optimize for mental health, that way your content won't suffer, even if that means longer/erratic release spacing. love your work and hope you continue however you see fit.

oh and good luck with your pending kiddo!

Real life comes first, always. Take care of yourself and your family, we will be here and waiting when you decide you have time for the game. Some people may get impatient, just take it as a compliment of how much they enjoy your work.

well the kid and real life should always come first or you can make 4-5-6 versions of the game and release them every 2 months every chapter

Great, we made the developer put a month into writing! We know how these developer's "promises" work! Now the baby will be born in July/August, delaying the release of Episode 4 even further!
