Hahaha that's a funny coincidence. Doubt it has anything to do with you. You should never stop supporting games you enjoy, it means the world for a lot of devs. BCG isn't gone forever, he's just sorting his personal situation out and will be back stronger than before!

And I hope the hiatus won't be too long for the developer. I can wait, but I fear that if too much time passes the dev might completely lose interest. I was really enjoying the AI scenes and renders, but also the story and writing. Many interesting characters, potential for exciting situations, and a dark plot that contrasts nicely to the cosy vibe of the town.

I hear you guys and your concerns. I'm less active than I was but that's because things are a bit hectic and my focus is on family rn. Shit came at me at a very inconvenient time so I can't give any guarantees for the future. All I can tell you is that I plan/want to start releasing game content again after my 2nd baby arrives in April.
I'll be working on the game in the meantime sporadically which is why supporter tiers have been deleted. Don't want to take people's money.

BCG froze his Patreon upgrade options because he's taking a leave of absence for the next couple of months due to personal/family reasons. Hence that is the reason why you may not be able to access the upgrade options on his Patreon.

Send the dev a DM here and he will get back to you with a timely response (hopefully) or message on the MRL official Discord page and someone can give you a more clearer answer

What happened sucks ass, but we're over it and looking ahead now. I'll do life updates and renders as we go.
I'm thankful to you guys here on F95 because it was a big part of why the game was so successful.

I don't know if it works this way in your country (probably the US) but if you had an oral agreement with the landlord it stills counts as a contract, therefore he may be responsible for breach of contract, if you really like it's worth a shot, you could ask for him to maintain the original pact or to get a compensation for the breach of contract, and damages for having to move away, etc ,etc.

If you want in the future to have a similar agreement ask for a immobiliary leasing, it's exactly that, monthly payments until 2/3 of the price is payed, then the final payment to get the property.

Sorry for my bad english and if the advice does not work in the US or your state, a local lawyer will be able to guide you better, it may be worth a shot.

He said if anything, it won't be before his second child coming in April. Meaning starting April he MAY be back, of course many sleepless tiring nights with a newborn. I'd say we'd be pretty lucky if we started seeing an update in the second half of 2025

Being a debuting dev i presume this one is not his main activity. If his wife/partner needs some attentions for this last months it reasonable that this game went quite low on his priorities. Bummer because this game is really a good one and i hope he reprises it with entusiasm. There will be a several months of waking up at night for the baby as well. We will see.
