Good morning!
The downscale efforts are complete! Game is fully ported to a base 1080p resolution.
In the end, dowscaling the images was simple with imagemagick (Thanks EMC, for the recommendation).
The real behemoth was having to manually re-calibrate all the hard-coded positional offsets (yoffset/xoffset) that I did for the images and ui elements in the game, and all the image defines... finally done!
You'll now be able to enjoy Moonripple Lake on your slower devices without lagI hope.
Just don't load it on your Nokia 3310, okay?
In other news, my paypal funds are still frozen. They confirmed that they have done so, and I had to redo the KYC - which is complete. They responded that they need to look further into the dealings of my account to see if there has been a breach of their terms of service... I think they suspect money laundering/illegality or whatever. I've done some research and they usually do this and hold funds from anywhere from 3 to 26weeks (yikes) before they're liable to either legally clarify or release the funds.
In light of this I have decided to go ahead and not put my hopes up while they kick the can down the road, and instead:
I'm committing to the Steam/Itch release in December.
(I still hope to be able to regain Paypal in the meantime)
If not, I'll restructure my business setup after the Episode 6 release, so that I can return to a Patreon-first model.
So, due to my payout being useless (for the forseeable future),
this happens:
I will still be posting devlogs and renders here as regularly as I can, so that part doesn't change. In fact, new render coming shortly
- EP6 will have more content (mainly more sex)
- EP6 releases on Steam + Itch in mid December.
(If nothing changes I'll release it on Patreon a bit later for free as thanks)- Patreon billing will be paused indefinitely until the payout issue is resolved

you have no clue what's going on. Unless something radical changes (extremely unlikely), the what is happening around erotic/porn content right now will kill whole industry of these games in next couple of years

Yes. Delayed. I can't payout money from Patreon so it doesn't make sense to release. I had a Steam Early Access release planned for December for a while now so I'm just going to use that to debut ep6. If paypal doesn't unfreeze my funds ofc.
Ep6 will have more content now.
Still hoping for them to release my account so I can continue as I was on Patreon.

Doesn't Itch have the same problems? Do they have a different payment processor by now? I thought Visa/MasterCard was acting up as well.

Kinda screwed either way here in the UK, because of the new online safety act law I can't view AVN's or any adult content on Steam without a credit card, which I don't have and don't want (I only have a debit card). Combined with the fact that credit card companies are also against and clamping down on AVN's/adult content.

Then, I suppose, there will be a crypto proxy to do the same stuff. When in process of paying you would "buy crypto" and send that to author, even if technically you have no clue what crypto is.

And then you just publish magic numbers for subscribers which would be the passwords for archive with, you know, your real app. This way, even if some genius would subscribe to a calculator app, he wouldn't have a clue what the magic number is. Discussed this with friends, and Grok said it's a good idea while ChatGPT said it will report me to authorities right away.

It won't even allow me to view adult content on Steam without a credit card. I already do use a VPN but the store is region locked.
Check the dev log I posted this morning. No it's not dead...
It was a joke, I understand that the author has problems with payments, it's just that first the update was supposed to be released at the end of September, then at the end of October, now it's mid-December.If the money is not withdrawn, maybe it is worth suspending subscriptions to Patreon?
