hey BananaCreamGames , remember waaaaay back the first time we meet Drago's mom? the player has the option to cheat or not, and if they do it actually says [Cheated] in the top corner of the screen......will there be any continuation to that? or was it forgotten? Not very large consequences here, but you as the player can't avoid a scene with her and someone else in episode 6 if you cheated
It's because Anon's conscience makes him believe that he deserves it.
If you didn't cheat, you can either let it happen or avoid it.

Yeah that's my approach essentially but I'll make scenes here and there that will happen/not happen based off of that. But nothing serious like them breaking up or something that would force you down a long alternate route.

this game, with all the much love I have for it, is an AI CG game with little too no branches, providing bi-monthly updates should be very plausible. Again, I'm not trying to stress the dev or anything, I'm glad he's taking his time to make quality art, personally however I think that +6 months of waiting will have created a high bar for the update that will be hard to satisfy.

To be honest I'm not sure that the AI CG work that Banana does is easier than drawing it manually. Moonripple has almost cinematic feel, very smooth, characters are always in motion, their faces change expressions constantly as they speak. I'm only reminded that this is AI when I see that secondary characters' faces all look like Suzie's (that's the biggest flaw with the game for me).

Moonripple was my first western AVN, before that I only played Japanese. And I hopped into Moonripple because I saw a random screenshot on the main page of VNDB.com and was astonished by the beauty of it. So I think I even prefer AI CG to hand-drawn art, provided that it is of quality of Moonripple. Especially his work on landscapes and surroundings, I think it doesn't get praised enough.




So Moonripple was my first western AVN, and I think it's still the best one I played, considering it all-round (technical quality, how smooth it feels, image beauty, writing, world-building, story, mood)

You could generate a decent number of backgrounds while a real artist would still be in the sketching phase. Knowing the limitations is half the battle.

This took me 9 minutes as I had to test different checkpoints. Generation time: 32.6 seconds.

This is no where near Moonripple's quality. The cross is not even straight And not just the cross - everything feels kinda wobbly, as if I am very drunk and my sight glitches

And don't forget that this is just one angle. The town in Moonripple is a character on its own - it has its lore, its unique style, we see the map of it, so we understand its geography. When the game just starts we drive towards it and see it from distance, then closer and closer. This is how we are introduced to the town. All of that has to be more or less consistent - in such a way that the travels of our protagonists inside the town felt smooth, that we are still at the same place but see it from different positions and angles as we move inside it.

Like I said the town is a character on its own. After introduction, we gradually learn about its mysteries. And the story is about solving these mysteries - so the game's story is as much of the town's arc as it is Anon's. I quickly checked out other AI games and none of them have that much attention to the place, to geography, to world building. All of them have generic backgrounds often just "an ordinary american city". The place doesn't even have a name, nor its own style, nor any personality or story. This is why Moonripple is in a league of its own.

I don't think you can blame this wobbliness on an attempt to depict perspective. Even if it is such an attempt, it's an unsuccessful attempt. The cross shouldn't be "bent", it's clearly a problem with generation. That's how perspective depiction looks - no wobbliness:
