...You ARE aware things can be mislabeled, yes? The content on this site should be evidence enough of that.
It’s not mislabeling. These terms have been there since the beginning of the site, and that’s how language evolves.
The “cuck” term has nothing to do with literature; it’s slang. I’ve already explained the difference between slang and literature
“Gay” in literature means happy, but in slang it means someone who’s attracted to the same gender. The same can be said for words like nice and bully, etc.
And tbh, more than 90% of people who like NTR don’t even play as the MC, while more than 90% of people who like NTS do play as the MC.
So by today’s usage, and by how the category is actually used, “cuck” aligns with NTS.
Even from a historical standpoint, it still doesn’t describe people who like NTR

Funny, Mirriam-Webster defined a cuckold as a man whose wife is unfaithful. By the very setting of Netorase, the term doesn't apply by it's widely recognized definition.

It took me ten seconds to prove you wrong. How sad.

EDIT: Here's the link, if you don't believe me.

No, you didn’t “prove” anything — you just repeated a dictionary definition.
Merriam-Webster gives the literal meaning of cuckold. That doesn’t invalidate how “cuck” is used as a slang category label. Site tags reflect usage, not etymology. Why can't you understand the difference between slang and literature? You can call the wife unfaithful in both cases, but the perspective matters. The dictionary doesn’t define unfaithfulness based on emotions; it simply means having relations outside the marriage. Whether you allow it or not has nothing to do with the definition. The definition doesn’t change, and that actually reinforces my point. The meaning can change in slang, but you can’t change the literary definition.

Bro i just gave you the difference between slang and literary word..why are you so slow??
Mhmm. Yup. Okay. Man over here dipping and ducking to avoid that L.

Also, just a tip: probably shouldn't call someone slow in the same comment where you shiteballed your sentence structure.

Your vast failures aside...

This game is really fun. And for some reason, this game's folder is the only one that's just a blank folder on my external drive. Wonder what I did to fuck that up.

...You just can't accept the L here, huh? You even quoted me twice in the same comment.

Look, I get you're really doing your best here. But what's the point of this? Derailing a topic to deny you were wrong serves...what purpose exactly?

By it's very nature, sharing negates unfaithfulness. Netorase fits no definition of 'cuck' or unfaithfulness. It's literally sharing. All done consensually, with permission. You're outright ignoring the humiliation aspect that's key to cuckoldry and the entire basis behind the word cuck to begin with.

Seriously, just drop it. I have literally nothing but time. I can spend the next decade continuing to prove you wrong in every literary and modern slang way.

Can we just drop this asinine topic and actually discuss the game this thread is about before the mods put the boot in on both of us?

I just proved you wrong so many times with examples.. consent does not change a shit and definition will not change but its meaning can and that's what slang does and now I understand the frustration of teachers when they try to explain things with examples but some people still fails to understand a thing....you just can't understand the difference between slang and literature ..You’re obsessed with the dictionary… until it doesn’t suit your argument, then suddenly ‘unfaithfulness’ only counts if the husband feels betrayed. Classic..let's just leave it here i don't want to be kicked out of this sub

OMG, getting back to the game, I was really disappointed with this update and with "Moonripple Lake" and BCG in general.

There is a point when a Developer starts stalling or milking things and that became evident in this latest update. Suzie gave Drago a blowjob at the end of chapter 4, then in chapter 5 Suzie again gives Drago a BJ. And in chapter 6, guess what, Suzie gives Drago ANOTHER BJ. See the trend? OK, Suzie teases an asleep Grok by rubbing on him but it's just TEASING. Christ, she doesn't even suck Cee's dick (or go down on her) in the so called "threesome" not to mention that Cee doesn't penetrate her. Just more TEASING and more importantly, 2 whole chapters where BCG is just milking.

Oh, I know a lot of you will say that the plot with Merynn and Silas moved forward but really, BIG DEAL. To me all that pearl and Silas stuff was just a MacGuffin in the first place.

This is/was a sex game and the FMC is always the focus of any sex game. To see Suzie held in place for three chapters is beyond frustrating. Yeah, I know that MC had sex with Merynn but I don't care about that either. Anon has been sucking and fucking since the beginning but BCG has been deliberately delaying Suzie's sexual progression outside of the plot. She could have easily fucked Drago or Grok and it would have changed nothing in the story, absolutely zero.

BCG sidelining Suzie's sexual progression with other characters only serves one purpose - to keep people wanting more. Shame on you BCG by turning what was one of the best games out there, (I thought the scene with Suzie, Anon, and Drago in chapter 4 was one of the hottest I've ever seen), into another Developer milkfest...

(And as a sidenote, all of you forum members who are obsessed with terms like Netorase, Netorare, Cuckold, Cuckquean, etc., you can all just go suck an egg. Watching you guys argue back and forth over these concepts in post after post is even more frustrating than BCG's poor performance in this latest chapter... lol.)

Outside of the "cheating" opportunities the MC has been fairly tame in this VN. If you avoid those Suzie was ahead of him as far as relations with the opposite sex went. The 'cheating' opportunities clearly being a trap.

The concept of the FMC/Main Female LI as the focal point is an interesting one. I am curious to hear from those here, has this aspect turned sour of late? As the audience is largely men with an attraction to women. The women in any VN is the focal point. For me, I see Male MCs as vehicles to get numerous female character types in sexual situations, without having to create and render a new guy for each of them. I never viewed it as a competition between MMC and FMC for 'screen time'. It is more that Merynn and Cee got time and progress than it is that Anon got prog over Suzie.

Also...what makes Suzie (in this case) so special? Is it specifically the want from the girlfriend of the MMC to have sex with others? Or are there other factors I am missing?

Ehh, not really sure what your asking. Are you trying to create a position that side characters like Cee or Merynn are just as important as Suzie in this game or that their sexual progression (or lack thereof) is equivalent to Suzie's? Or maybe you're just trying to incite some sort of debate about sharing Suzie and her relationship with Anon? Either way I'm not engaging in that.

For me Suzie was introduced in chapter one and since the beginning has been the star of the game both in appearance and in her initial shyness/attitude. I want to see her do more sexually or get corrupted. It has nothing to do with her relationship with Anon. If the game were different and Suzie was a single FMC I would still want to see her engage in more and more daring sexual situations. Thats it. Female side characters that appear as games progress obviously add something to the story of a game but are never as interesting as an attractively rendered FMC like Suzie that has been a focus since the beginning.

Not trying to incite, genuinely trying to understand the trend. I have actually been thinking on this issues for awhile now. For me, I like Suzie, but she has not been that different from other girls in looks or personality. I can see what you are saying about her being in the game from chapter 1. She has had plenty of sexual interactions and daring encounters. Many of these have been with Anton though, as those are the only intercourse encounters. So part of what I was asking before was based off you saying how 'Anton' was ahead. Which for many was more of a recent change as I just pulled ahead in this last update (depending on path and play style).

I see this POV a lot but FMC games are not as popular as MMC games/VNs. Some make it, but many fall flat despite providing just what is being asked for here. Also when would a Dev be allowed to 'pull back' from the Female LI to showcase other characters? Should the Devs downplay chars like Suzie from the start to avoid this type of issue, cause other games show that even if he progresses her, there is always another step she could take. But then the character seems to narrative drift.

As I said, I am genuinely interested in your thoughts and everyone elses on this. No traps or games even if I disagree with you.

I guess like i stated in my last post that I like attractively rendered female main characters that appeal to me. Examples - Suzie in this game, Sophia in AWAM, Violet in MNGF, Jessica in JOHN, Anna in APM, Gina in Port Haven, Kathryn in TEB. Relationship status means little to me - the best games usually have FMC's that are in relationships but I guess that's more because developers like to create games around relationship tropes? I don't go looking for that, per se, but it seems like most of the best games out there are just plot developed that way.

If I start playing a game with an attractively rendered FMC and just keep getting teased by that attractively rendered FMC then I get pissed off - especially after waiting 3 months or more for an update. Other female characters are great and even if they are attractive and end up in sexy situations it's a bonus in any game but it still won't lessen my frustration if the FMC that piqued my interest from the beginning just keeps being teased.

The game I've been following for a long time has started to have stupid events and a ridiculous character Cee. I don't care about Cee, in fact, if I met him in real life, I might kill him.

Gotcha.

Admittedly, some of the examples you gave I am not as aware of but I do know of Violet, Anna, and Gina for sure. AWAM meanwhile is an actual FMC game that seems to have a decent audience that I know of, just have not played through. So if Suzie does have actual intercourse, will that fix things or is is a case that from this point forward she has to be the focal piece of the game? Coming from I guess more 'vanilla' games where you often have more than one LI as well. You always have a splits on which ones people like. And many times some will become fully active a lot sooner than others. However it was not until I started following so called NTS games that this idea of developers 'teasing' a character came onto my radar. For example in BAD, if you liked Jill or Bella per se, it was like 8 episodes before they fully activated(Far longer than the like 7 for this VN). However others were going at it within 4-5. But in those cases that was before they even got their first full sex scene period, even with the MC. In these games the girls are having sex, just not with other people outside of the MC yet. So just understanding that dynamic and how it affects the Development of these game types.

TY for the exchange, really appreciate it.

I'm not sure why ill-defined tags are because we have sentences in descriptions. MRL is: point of view male encourages their romantic female partner to have sex with other men and women/transwomen, he also has both disclosed and undisclosed sex with other women when disclosure is presumed.
Capturing POV, coersion vs willingness, types of sex, spoken/unspoken rules, etc is all WAY too nuanced for any tag to capture, yet can really make a difference to many viewers/readers.

I agree that tags cannot capture such nuance, and some of the tags we argue about the most are very broad by design. That said, I will ask, could Dev/authors do a better job at defining what their product is and what scope they intend from the start? When they do, do they stick to such?

For example, if you are not planning to implement betrayal from the Female LI, why introduce teases of the mechanic. If it is something you might do later, why not just build if from scratch then as opposed to using current resources for such?

Is it a matter of that they do not really know what they want fully and are leaving their options open? Or are they leaving open options to pivot if they sense that such where the money/interest is?
