Hey thanks everyone for all the likes and comments. Even the negative ones. So one of the big changes that I want your input on is the narrator. I love the idea of it and i find the current one hillarious. However... that does create an issue especially when I get to the sexy scenes.

It is gonna probably be hard for most to crank it if you hear someone like Morgan Freeman describing the sexy scene taking place.

So I have been thinking about replacing him with a female voice.

I have included 4 sound clips of different voices that might replace the narrator. I would like the community to decide.

why do you game makers do this to us gamers? 2 to 3 min of game play is not enough for us to decide if we're gonna like a game or not. either put some actual effort and make some content thats longer play time or just forget it. thats like asking someone to watch 2 min of a movie and decide if its good or not. its not fair to us or you.

2 mins of movie? like a trailer. I kid, I totally get what you mean. I feel the same way but my thinking was, well this is my first game. I don't even know if people are going to be interested.

But fear not. The next update is going to be much larger, have more content and I really want it to be worth the download.

Respect elements of the game and trying to clone voices and use them. Ai voices tho are hard to generate the proper tone of the sentence situation. Glad there's gonna be a Summer path and hope that can expand to Beth as well. The inconsistencies in the Ai pictures though hurts the overall look. But that's been said.

Good luck Dev and I hope you keep creating. The world could always use another good Rick and Morty game.
Oh and the opening theme song you picked made me lol.

I'm hoping that some of the endings, good and/or bad, involve pregnancy and/or impregnation. Even better if it would be part of a storyline and end with actually seeing the baby or something like that.

Always on the hunt for more Rick and Morty content (never enough of it). I'll keep an eye on this an see where it goes.

A few comments on what is here:

• I like the voices, not perfect, but good enough.
• Feels odd that Rick and Morty are both unvoiced. If you are going to do every character (narrator included) you should give them voices too.
• Narrator voice didn't bother me (and wasn't particularly impressed with any of the other options posted above), but I do suggest you add an option (possibly a dedicated options page) for muting/changing the volume for each character voice. (tutorials both on this site and a google away on how to do it)
• AI art doesn't bother me (it is just a tool), but style inconsistency sure does. Having characters become wildly different versions of themselves is a negative for me. (yes, I know this is an inherent issue with generative art).
• I think the "redo later" is an odd choice. The site is already flooded with redo/remakes (yes, I'm aware of the irony of me saying this, but I mean original creators redoing their game again and again instead of progressing them). Focus on making this project good with what you have. It won't appeal to everyone, but this is porn, it already doesn't appeal to everyone.
• As others have pointed out, dialogue could use some editing passing (lots of missing punctuation, especially periods at the end of sentences).
• As short as this demo is, things still felt too rushed. We aren't really introduced to the characters or the world, we hardly spend much time getting to know them. (example: there are 3 lines with Beth before running off?). Yes, it's a parody, and players might know the characters, but you'll get people who have never seen the show playing too, and you should consider giving them more context.
• (Coding) Your images are in an "images" folder, which means renpy will automatically make image objects for them. You do not need to redefine them in your code (lines 30-63). The image objects will have the same name as the image file, minus the ".png" extension.
• (Renpy) Folder name was Alpha001-Alpha001-pc for me, which, isn't the name of the game. Take a look in your options.rpy file change: define build.name = "Alpha001" to whatever you want to call this game. (RAMAMSA? rolls off the tongue! (What about, "Just Morty", or "Only Morty"))
• (Renpy) Consider adding an icon file to your game (instead of the renpy default), only a minute or two to do (google will tell you how) and makes the game look much better.

Ok... but you saw it before you posted... so what does that have to do with his question on why you posted on it? If you accidently click on any thread do you really feel the need to post on it? Appernetly not since you have made only 3 comments in 4 years.

Using AI as a "placeholder" while you "learn" for profit I take issue with.

Quote me where I said even once I was going to charge or try to make a profit while I learn.

Feel free to show where I created a paetron or have asked for money/donations in any capacity.

Yeah I am learning Renpy, I make it clear i'm new to Renpy and the reason why I was posting this. I wanted feedback and to see if this is something people would even want to PLAY. I want to know if a Rick and Morty visual novel with AI art and voices would be something of interest to people.

I've also been VERY clear about this being AI, I mentioned it multiple times in the game and in the post. Again I never once tried to trick people into giving me their money with AI art.

You seem to want to paint me as something I am not. I take offense to that.

AI isn't for everyone and that's perfectly fine.

The most insulting thing about what you said though, is that it's insulting to artists.

How long do you think it takes to become an artist? By saying just learn you are saying it can be easly done in a short time.

To become even a decent artist even if you have talent it takes years and countless hours. But you think anyone can do it in no time at all. It really shows that you don't have any actual respect for artist and what they do but instead just want to virute signal your hate for AI.


Will I create a paetron? sure absolutely but not until I feel I have learned Renpy enough that I can make an entertaining game and have enough content that people get a really good idea what the full game will be like and what I will make moving forward.

When will that be? Well probably not too long maybe a month or two given how quickly i'm getting a hang of Renpy as it's a tool specifically to make creating a visual novel extremely easy with little to no coding experience required.

I wonder if I used Daz3d to create 3d renders and I said I was learning it would you go off about that as well? As it's a tool designed to make it easy to create 3d images. "how dare you release 3d images if you say you are still learning"

It seems had I just not shown any humility and just not said I was learning Renpy everything would be fine.

I don't go out bitching about every AI product that comes across f95 and my post history is fairly indicative of that,

1.) Welcome to the F95 community...LOL

2.) Game is a little short, but is a first release and your first game with a good concept so to the whiners i say SHUT IT, wait to judge it once we get some more content.

3.) The only REAL critique I have is the inconsistent character design. I don't know what engine you are using, however I've heard that people using Senario AI ( which has a free tier ) usually have better luck with creating consistent characters. I've linked a tutorial below:
