One of a small list of games I don't mind restarting.. Just a solid piece of work.
100.png agree. I don't mind the slow burn at all. Some of the "slight touch" and groping scenes are incredibly hot to me. This is the type of thing I got revved up by as a kid, reading my mom's Harlequin Romance stories before I got into actual visual porn.

Wanted to give it a try but immediatly end up in sandbox hell, unfortunate
The MC's room is the only (teeny-tiny) "sandbox" in the game — and it's not even sandbox. Other than clicking to use the computer, look at the window, or see the MC's panties collection, the only other thing is change perspective in the same place. That's not sandbox. IDK where people get this insane definition that if there are things to click on a specific screen, even when you aren't actually clicking locations to travel, that it equates to "sandbox". Folks need to learn what a sandbox actually is if they think the MC's room means the game has sandbox. SMH.

The sandbox tag needs drastic revamping: IMO this game is mistagged because apparently even the folks running this site don't know what an actual sandbox is. Point-and-click? Yes. Sandbox? Yeah, no. And everything else in the game is a menu: Go to W, Go to X, Spend time with Y, Spend time with Z. If that tiny bit of free-roam scared you off, I'd say you've totally overreacted. But you do you, I guess.

There is an option in Preferences to enable freeroam highlight. It's designed for touchscreen users where they can't hover over items and see it's interactable, but it will work on any device.

Since it does seem to confuse people, I am considering adding an option to disable the freeroam. But that could be a big change since the freeroam is also used with the messaging app on the phone. Either way, that wouldn't be something I'd look at until we get to version 7 and I'm rewriting code to support Renpy 8.x

Yeah, sandbox and freeroam are two completely separate things.
Something like Treasure of Nadia is a sandbox, where you have a map and can go where you want.

Mothers and Daughters is a visual novel. As you progress through the story you can take the left or right paths, but nothing on the scale of a sandbox. The freeroam is designed to give the player a place to pause/save where they can reflect on their choices, look at relationship stats, images etc...
It's presented at the start of the game to introduce the player to the feature.

Yes, exactly. First, the site calls sandbox anything "with free roam elements". That's one of the dumbest definitions I've ever seen for sandbox. Is this GTA, Roblox, Minecraft, or a SIM game? It's not even the stretched "sandbox" definition where you click different locations in a house or city.

Second, the free roam you actually have is minimal; having a single hub for saving your game and interacting with stats and/or looking at objectives is a smart idea. It lets players pretty much always have a spot to save that will most likely load, if for some reason saves during a scene end up broken. And I remember that you've said saves shouldn't break even with the code changes for Ren'Py 8x. But in the unlikely event somehow something goes wrong, players who've saved in the MC's room but ended mid-day or something would at worst need to restart that day to continue. It's intelligent game design.
