About to play the game for the first time and saw a patch called "". So.... what exactly does it change in the game?

Just asking cause im used to seeing incest or walkthrough patch but this one is a first for me XD

The snowflake patch takes out most of the political speak/jokes (short of anything that was rendered, obviously.) as some were being offended by them. Doesn't outright remove any content, just changes the speech/dialogue to a more neutral tone.

This game is making me mad so far. It is so good yet... Talk, talk, talk, all they do is talk.

And the worst thing (I hate when games have that), there is a "mystery story" but only player is clueless about what's going on. Say whatever you want but it's just bad writing pattern... Only player is unaware of the situation/history yet is forced to read all these cryptic dialogues which on top of that are full of slang and american football technical terms. I want to say this is one of the best AVN I played lately and most promising for sure but getting through all that talk is really tiresome... It's hard to read, even harder to understand and that really takes all the fun away.

I had similar problem with STWA: Unbroken or Summers gone. The former bombarded player with all these characters you would only know if you played other game from the same dev yet you were forced to make decisions from the start. There is also a mystery story but only MC is aware of it, others try to reveal it with makes it somehow acceptable since you are not alone in the dark... The latter? Almost the same story as Move the chains, MC and some characters know about his traumatic past but other characters try to reveal it so again, we are not alone in that. Here? It's frustrating, feels like every fucking person in the world knows about MC more than player so no one even care to ask proper questions and they try so hard to talk cryptic all the time about it...

edit: I've just read some of the reviews and I'm glad I'm not the only one here... Extreme slow pacing, very wordy writing, too much Americanisms and American football jargon, too many characters/stories to keep up...

I knew such dumb comment will occur. That's not a point...

The point is that used language is very technical and first of all this game is AVN, not NFL manager. If you want to play "car racing game" and you have no idea about this sport, it would be easier and more enjoyable for you to play Forza Horizon or NFS than Assetto Corsa or iRacing. All the talks about American football could be presented in more caual way, make it simplier to understand for majority of players choosing this game.

I'm not in position to tell dev if game's theme is good or not, I'm just saying that choosing sport popular mainly in USA and using very technical jargon will make playing and understanding game much more difficult than it should. I'd like to think that I know english pretty well, well enough to comfortably watch movies or playing games in that language. Here I find it difficult, not only because of what I said above but also beacuse of heavily used slang/daily American.

There are similar voices in reviews section so it's not like I'm imaginating things. Dev can do whatever he/she wants and surely there are people who love it as it is, I'm just sharing my thoughts and giving my feedback.

The dev literally has it where you can hover over and click the slang and football jargon to see the meaning of the words/terms. I'm American, but I'm not really into football. I basically watch the super bowl and that's it. I also don't know many of the terms and the slang being used, but I still understood them from the descriptions the dev gave in-game.

Still have a public one to do, but making them smaller was a clear winner on the sub poll.

Oh, thank god. I was really hoping some kind of change was being considered with that cute love interest's ears. Or at least maybe have her hair down more often in scenes, so players who hate gauging...don't have to see the brutal damage done to her pretty ears.

Also in real life, she would require corrective surgery just to undue the massive stretch damage caused by those huge gauges (yuck...not appealing at all for many).

Anyways really looking forward to the next release of this excellent title.

Just want to make a little update post on my health at the moment.

I've been experiencing some respiratory issues over the last few days that's making it hard to focus on working on the game. It's kind of hard to explain. Like I can't get a full breath, or at least the satisfaction of a full breath. I've been diagnosed with Reactive Airway Disease (basically a lazy way of labeling undiagnosable asthma) prior to this, but it's never been quite this bad. Unfortunately, I'm not currently on any insurance (related to job), but will be going to a quick care to at least get an inhaler until I can see a doctor. The lack of breath, though, creates a lot of anxiety. Which are resulting

The game isn't going on hold or being dropped or anything like that. At worst, I'm taking a few days off. The pace will slow down until I can get this under control. It's still being worked on, obviously.

Just wanted to put that out there for the sake of transparency.

I'm getting to the age where things take longer to heal than they do to get them, but I ain't that old yet.

Jargon as in the football jargon? Or more of something else? Can't really go halfway with the football jargon, though. I either don't use any and sound ignorant or use it all and try to mitigate it as much as possible via other means.

Just toss in a lot of "fucks', "shits" and "Christ on a bike!" and you're golden.

Regardless, more so about football jargon and, I know, it can't be helped. Just have to throw a lot of info at the player. But it is well mitigated so the reader isn't left discombobulated... The jargon helper system you have going works well enough so my old brain can translate.

Now, back to reading. I need new reading glasses soon. Not even 30 yet, fml.

I've very much considered a few times, but I'm too stubborn for my own good sometimes. I have gotten a bit less active on the game thread, but stick around for bugs, questions, and the occasional ribbing.

There's not really much I could do about the jargon, I suppose it's just a side effect of making a game around such a specific topic.

Definitely better with Albuterol and getting back into some slightly more intense exercise. Have a day off tomorrow, so will probably be setting up an appointment with a pulmonologist to see if I can get something consistent worked out.

I think there are just a lot of non-Americans on the site who get upset about having to learn something new. If it was their version of football instead, they wouldn't think twice about all the terms being tossed out because they'd know them already.

And yeah, I think MissFortune has done the best he can... use the lingo (because it would be used, especially by people who live and breathe the sport like college athletes and commentators) but provide a glossary so people who don't know the vocabulary aren't lost.

In my opinion, picking up on some new terms is a hell of a lot better than having to try to decipher machine-translated english, so the game already starts off way ahead.
