Just a note to the Dev, and not sure what you can do. The file size is getting very large and so it exceeds quotas for free download accounts. I was able to use Buzzheavier, but its going to get tricky when you are at 30gb or something

Also, honestly, this thing is a masterpiece, as full of tech difficulties as it is. There is nothing out there like it, as far as I know, except for monthly pay web based services and even those dont have a local version. I believe you are a pioneer in this. I have learned tons of AI tech, meaning I probably know 1% lol. But it has been a nice way to learn.

Download the local version, then unpack and (in the game's files) go to local -> koboldcpp -> koboldcpp.exe and run it. (This just to make sure it starts. You can close it again as you don't need the koboldcpp window to be open when running the game.)
Then start Multiic and it should already suggest the local model for the koboldcpp.
Once it did load you're good to go.

I have been able to use Illustrious models, both safetensor and gguf. By disabling my antivirus (and disconnecting from internet physically because I am paranoid), I am able to run all Illustrious checkpoint models I have tried(checkpoint just means, as far as I can tell, a full model...as opposed to Lora etc which are more fine-tuning of a model you have). I cannot get Flux models to to work. I have decided for fun to try different kinds of models and see if anything but Illustrious works. If any other kind works, I will let you know.

You can also try "Pony" models. They work too and have the same requirements for VRAM als Illustrous. The promting for pony is a little different so the results from the promts of the game may vary

Sillytavern is better than this in every way imo, aside maybe from setup pains.

The method of constantly changing the prompt that this game is trying just makes the story have 0 correlation to your actual chat history. People heavily impressed by this game just haven't ever done any sort of AI ERP it seems. I do appreciate any dev trying to make something like this work though, flawed as it is.

Oh boy, ok. I have been using 0513 with no problem, then during a sandbox session, I suddenly get the error "kobold failed to fetch" . Just out of the blue.
That is problem number 1 lol
Ok, problem number 2, although I am administrator on my pc, installing 0522 using 7zip gives the error that I am not administrator after not being able to access koboldcpp in the unzipping. I think. Sigh. Any thoughts on either of these? I mean, the first one, just out of the blue..really weird. Thanks.

UPDATE For those of you experiencing any of what is above, my solution occured after I did a number of things, so sadly not a controlled experiment. Nevertheless, this is what I did: I made sure I was running 7 zip as admin by finding the app and right clicking all of the 7 zip apps and clicking on Run As Administrator for all of them. I then put the zip file on one of my internal drives (I have been using an external ssd). I think what fixed the problem was putting it on an internal drive. I am using the local version. Why all of a sudden it just refused to work on my external ssd when it was before...who knows. Ghost in the machine.

I can only agree to what Junkbom said. Even in Sandbox mode it's like role-playing in Sillytavern with the most rudimentary character card. It gets better if you are subscriber and can use the custom context. But even then you are way more limited than in Sillytavern.
But getting started with role-playing in Sillytavern or KoboldAi Lite is really a steep learning curve if you don't have any technical knowledge about how to set it up.
All that being said, I still think the dev did a commendable job by integrating all these complex technologies into a single game.

I believe the game could be much better if the dev had someone to create some flashed out character cards for the in-game characters. Even better if these character cards could be edited in sandbox mode with a simple interface so that players could get an idea how to do this and then being able to change them to their liking. Maybe also find someone to flash out the story so the game dev can concentrate on the technical aspects of the game.

Gofile is generally my go to platform. Haven't seen any links for this game yet though, sadly.

I have a question concerning the sandbox of this game. I am using local model version and everytime when I play it happens that after about 5 minutes of play the game totally forgets about what happend. Like I tried to put my character and Fiona to sisters...but after 5 minutes they suddenly were not (when I tried to ask her she told me I am idiot thinking we are sisters). If I try anything always within 5 minutes it aqbsolutely does not matter what I typed before, it always totally forgets details which I think are absolutelly crucial for any role-play. So is there a way how to get over this problem?

does the crator lurk here can i request that he adds abilty to read the notepad files ? i can save the log of convo but the program has no way to return to it ? also to make the free avatar one without personality cus im sick and tired of overiding the personality. i just want to talk to the AI to do some dnd like rp. or if anyone can recomend me free AI that will not cencor me or bill me out of ass that i can upload my notepad logs and resume my story cus i really want to continue it but at the meoment if i try to post it in the 2,5k charcahter chunks (the promt size window) it would take 200 promts, and while i am willing to do this and spend the time, the AI brakes and get locked up if i try. i usually lurk and dont say shit but im at a wits end at this point

Your best bet for playing your own scenarios in a continuous roleplaying scenario is local AI. You can set up KoboldCPP with Sillytavern to have a neat little window where you can load a character and play with it indefinitely, and the only limit is your hardware. I use Lunaris myself for my chats. Both communities (Kobold and Sillytavern) have resource to help you get started and nice communities to help you along.
