New to this game. I've downloaded the local models option but the game won't launch. Do you need the internet access models to start? Had a search through previous posts but didn't find anything that really helped.

tried yesterday with the local model and at some point got a reply from Claude that it cannot reply with sexual content (paraphrasing here).
Additionally I have a questions about the settings. there is a DnD sectionat the bottom but it's greyed out.
Is this not (yet) in the game or if it is how can I activate it?

I downloaded the web version too. Exactly the same. Try to open the .exe and apart from a very brief spin of the 'busy' wheel. Nothing.

for local models, u don’t need internet.
on win-local, u need to enable koboldcpp in the settings and select a model.

hmm, it might be the firewall - check it and add the game to the exceptions. if that doesn’t help, try disconnecting from the internet and launching the game (there’s a hypothesis that another app might be occupying the port the game uses)

claude is an api model; unfortunately its censorship isn’t fully bypassed. it’s still much less restrictive compared to gemini and chatgpt, and usually it’s enough to delete the reply from the log and slightly rephrase the line.
for completely uncensored output - use local models.
dnd is available via the person password on boosty

I'm not getting a loading screen, let alone settings. I literally double-click the .exe and I get a short busy wheel, and that's it. Unless I have something that is interfering. This is the only game i have that behaves this way though. This is what the game folder looks like.

Is there a way to support the project that doesn't include a Russian owned site? (country I'm in is incredibly strict in their sanctions). I figured the sandbox mode and introducing characters or changing the world could be fun.

For the first game, everything looks mega-ambitious. Didn't the author think of adding the ability to connect Ollama models via API? That would be awesome.
