That's the last progress report I saw here. Almost 3 months later, the "150 renders " + "6 animations left " are still not done. About the "why "... Decide for yourself.

They should already declare this game as abandoned and a scam by their dev

I checked his Patreon and Discord, and honestly, I can confirm what you're saying: there are no official announcements or concrete info about the progress of the update, and definitely no release date anywhere.
The developer is still "active" though, posting wallpapers for his patrons on Patreon and chatting regularly with people on Discord (mostly light banter, chit-chat, and shitposting). But when it comes to the game, he tends to avoid giving any serious news or real details about its state.
When people ask about the update's release, all he says is vague stuff like "soon" or mentions things he might vaguely do on the game, but he often brushes off requests for more info. That’s never a good sign for me. Based on the little he’s letting slip (which is basically nothing), it seems like the update is still far off.
At this point, I’m not even sure if he plans to release anything at all, or if this update will ever actually happen. The overall impression I got isn't great, but of course, everyone can form their own opinion. I really hope I’m wrong, though.
Edit : I just saw this from the dev (on Discord), on February 11, 2025, 10:26 AM : " I’ll update the status bar as soon as I finish animations, just as I mentioned in the last post on the Patreon."
There’s not much else, no extra details, and when others ask for more info, it’s often dismissed. It kind of feels like a vague excuse or a way to buy time, but who knows, maybe he’s being honest. One can hope it’s true. Anyway, all that to say there’s not much info, and honestly, it’s not looking too promising right now.

The developer kept his word by sharing an update on the next version, which is a positive sign. The real question is whether he'll actually release it and if it’ll be soon. Honestly, I don’t expect a quick launch. According to the progress chart, there’s still a lot to be done, including coding and other renders.
Considering the developer’s slow pace so far, especially for a game from 2019, it seems like it’ll take a while, particularly when compared to other similar projects that produced much more content in the same time frame. Still, we can at least take comfort in the fact that he’s providing some news and seems to be "working" (allegedly) on the game.
