hey, uh idk if this is a problem with anyone else on the non-vr mode but i legit dont know how to open the doors to the characters, embarrassingly. is this a common issue for everyone else in non vr mode or am i missing something?

That happens because there is no tutorial or instructions in the game itself without VR, I recommend a previous message that tells you how to move in that game, I also recommend you read how you configure your keyboard in the game and then answering your question I think that It would be to go to your character of your choice, press enter and give the option to invite .... and it lets you choose several places for <3 <3 <3
