The truth is that whilst there are many dedicated human translators out there who bless us peasants with top notch translations most of us don't even pay them for, there are THOUSANDS of titles out there released over decades of time who will never see any translations, countelss gems we won't get to enjoy because there simply aren't enough humans who have the times, means or want to translate them to english.
So if dev wanna mess with AI to create translation then I sure cheer them on, they might be shit now, but like AI in art, they won't be shit for long.

First of all I agree with AI translation, but not so much with the second. I speak as a personal taste. For me, all AI art lacks soul. One thing is to use AI as an aid when drawing and another thing is to release generic garbage drawings that are all the same. That they are popular........... Well, let's put it in quarantine, and well, what to say about the absurdity that AI drawings are much better than the rest of the artists who work hard to improve and put their artistic touch that is so popular in their drawings.... I don't give in to the ANTI-AI issue because I defend the use of AI but as an aid to people and not as a replacement for then. You will never see me in any game generated by AI and even less will I spend my money on that.

AI is great, it democratizes access to titles which weren't going to be translated anyway. I could get behind the argument of "AI is Bad" if we were talking about translating a game such as Subahibi, that needs the accuracy of a true translation for translation.

If you enter in this rabbit hole of accuracy and true meaning, you'll find that the only way of "100% understanding a media" is to learn it's language and culture, which is just dumb imo.
