Don't be so sarcastic. There are devs who pull out 1000+ renders per update monthly, which is 300+ renders per week, so what I said is not so strange.
It's rarely apples to apples. A dev just making basic bitch GMOD-level renders can easily pad the impressiveness of their patch notes with 300+ renders a week of a girl just sitting in a chair doing slight pose changes for dialogue, but it's effectivly nothing content that could just be a sprite with 2 expressions and no one would care. Whereas an expertly lit high quality render involving a new character in a new location in a well-posed hot sex CG would be impressive if they even managed a pace of 1 render a week, and is actual content.

But in this specific case though of a scene that's just a variant of an existing one, with characters and a location he already has a setup saved for, I would say it is rather underwhelming. Granted, there's animations involved which are a massive timesink, but yeah no one really likes an update that's just a scene variant that half of people won't even see in their save. Better to target for a single bigger update that includes both variants imo.

Ok I just started playing it but the beginning is very strange as far as the college is concerned, I mean he was in a coma, he literally gets tired with just a little exercise/walking, he lost his memory (he doesn't remember his family but he will remember the basics to take courses? It's one thing to know how to talk, walk, etc. from the theoretical knowledge of subjects like math, history, etc.) and despite all this is how he's already back to normal after a week (they don't mention the time but an approximate of what is implied) of waking up?

Imagine taking out a loan and you only have to pay 100 renders a month, but taking on a new loan is 400 renders a month Bonehat!

The number of devs that do that are extremely, extremely few and far between. Just because a handful of outliers exist doesnt mean it should be expected as the norm. The machine (s) to do that kind of render farm is extremely expensive to not just put out 11 pixel renders.

You're talking to an inactive Dev. Would you agree that SubscribeStar/Patreon and crew could and should move financial rewards to the end of finished projects, rather than in tandem with them? Perhaps a monthly diminishment of returns regardless of pledges would be advisable for a certain sector of creators? Some people need deadlines just to get out of bed.

I mean, that is a completely different argument. I am very on record on f95 and probably have dozens of posts now about how much I hate the Patreon model for "indie" devs. More than willing to spend 15-20 bucks on major releases for games that come out like a normal indie dev, or from devs who have proven to stick to outlines and finish projects, but just not going to finance someone's hobby for them to bail on projects or completely change the direction of a game.

If people are cool with giving money to someone without any guarantee of a return at the end, more power to them. Its just not for me.

That's not patronage...

God damnit I'm so tired of people acting like patreon is a store when it's explicitly not that.
We have societal & cultural expectations that discourage holding others accountable for their actions . Take my advice, I don't need it.

No we don't. We literally hold vast swathes of society accountable for things which they have no control over.... The only people who aren't held accountable with any regularity are the wealthy.

Regardless Patronage is when an artist is paid enough to survive, so that they can afford to create whatever art takes their fancy, historical by one or more wealthy patrons... Commissions are when they're explicitly paid to make a specific thing.

Patreon disperses the cost of Patronage across the masses, but it is not a commission service.
