Look, I don’t go zooming in on the character to examine every tiny detail. That’s definitely more of a dev-with-OCD thing — which makes sense if you’re aiming for a perfect game. If there’s room to improve, great. But honestly, the beard style already looks good as it is. Adding more would just make it look weird.

Wow, that view really does make it look like a bunch of scars.... Did someone shave and he cut the shit out of his chin while going down on her 3 days later? Man looks like he put his chin in a cheese grater.
....that being said, I can't imagine we will ever have such a close-up AND side-tilted view and tthere's some significant pixelization that adds to the weirdness. Plus it looks like the beard color here is the same as his skin tone, and that doesn't help either. I feel like this is definitely salvageable if you like the scruffy look!

I'm thinking that NiiChan is going for the "Scruffy Goatee" look however it would seem that the color is waaay off.
