I have 16gb of ram.Does this game require certain thing to run or something? I remember there renpy game that require you to run discord app or else it crash.I also turn off internet when run this game.
My driver already up to date. There no crash log too which making it harder to find out what the issue. We don't know what the cause is, maybe a potential solution, try the following steps to troubleshoot the problem:
1. Update Graphics Drivers: Outdated or buggy graphics drivers are a common cause of the game problems. Use the AMD Drivers and Support page to download and install the latest drivers for your graphics card.
2. Check Windows Defender/Antivirus: Your antivirus software might be blocking the application. Add the game executable to the exception list in your Windows Defender or third-party antivirus settings.
This game has been tested on Windows 10 64 bit as in the video below
and Windows 11 Pro 24H2 64 Bit.
Is there a log.txt or traceback.txt file created in the game directory when running the game?My driver already up to date. There no crash log too which making it harder to find out what the issue.
nope.there no log.txt or traceback.txt.Is there a log.txt or traceback.txt file created in the game directory when running the game?
What year is it?game now runs smoothly at an optimized 800x600 resolution
I disagree, kinetic novels are not games.VN was better :/
We appreciate the catch. The reason 1440p isn't listed is that this poll is intended to gather data on minimum optimization targets rather than standard usage. We are looking to see how far down we need to optimize for lower-end hardware. Standard resolutions like 1440p are already integrated into our primary development and performance goals. Is that poll supposed to be a joke? It has 800x600 and 720p but not 1440p? It's the second most used resolution by Steam's survey, a distant second to 1080p but still way ahead of everything else, including over 5x more utilized than 4k and 100x more than 720p.
Haha, we get the sentiment! It definitely feels like a throwback. What year is it?
i could understand that if 1080p wasnt the industry standard for the last 15 years. pretty sure windows xp sp3 was still in play when it got normalized, at least at 4:3. 16:9 was probably vista era. any integrated graphics made in the last 10 years should be able to handle renpy at 1080p assuming they arent trying to play it on w7.Haha, we get the sentiment! However, based on our latest poll results, we were surprised to see that a portion of our community is still running on older hardware or integrated graphics. Our goal with this optimization is to ensure the game remains inclusive and playable for everyone—from high-end rigs to the 'potato PC' warriors and those on lower-end setups.
We’re just making sure no one gets left behind while we continue to polish the experience for higher resolutions!
You're absolutely right that 1080p has been the standard for a long time. However, it’s worth noting that since we are using Ren'Py 8.3.7, the game actually requires Windows 10 (64-bit) or newer as a baseline, so older OS like XP or Vista aren't even in the equation anymore.i could understand that if 1080p wasnt the industry standard for the last 15 years. pretty sure windows xp sp3 was still in play when it got normalized, at least at 4:3. 16:9 was probably vista era. any integrated graphics made in the last 10 years should be able to handle renpy at 1080p assuming they arent trying to play it on w7.
i know it needs w10. i mentioned that for how long 1080p been standard. was just a timeline reference. nothing running 10 or later is overheating on a 1080p renpy game. downscaling for 7 people just seems wild but its ya'll call even if i dont get it. i just wont be able to play this native windowed that small /shrugYou're absolutely right that 1080p has been the standard for a long time. The reason we still optimize for lower resolutions is mainly for users on modern but low-powered hardware. In some cases, running at a lower internal resolution with proper scaling helps maintain a stable framerate on those devices without overheating.
We just want to make sure the performance is rock-solid across the board!
