The battles are not hard once you train 2nd time (for 100$) and get the cards that make 2 damage with 1 energy, this effectively doubles the damage you deal. Edit your deck to remove the old cards that require 2 energy. Use piledriver first to break enemy defense if he has defense otherwise use attack cards. You can win without using defense cards at all, because their use is limited due to enemy using pile driver.
To make money the only viable way is to use the casino and save/load until you get at least a 1000$ of wins. The game will prevent you from making too much money in the casino at some point, but in the current version you need only enough for MK2 camera, a 100 for training and 600-700$ or so for the photo shoot.
