So because I did the i-mod for Lust and Life, a couple of people messaged me and asked me if I could do the same type of unofficial conversion patch for this one... So what the hell, I went ahead and did it..

Again this is a completely unofficial fan-made patch that perverts the dev's vision, with the goal of making it more of a spiritual successor to "My Cute Cousin" instead of "My Cute Roommate"...

My Cute Roommate 2 Unofficial Taboo Conversion Fan Mod v1.1
(For My Cute Roommate 2 v16.10260 Extra)

- This is a pure dialogue patch/label hijack mod. No file replacement required. To install, simply save the file in the "game" subfolder of "MCR2-16.10260extra"

- Alters dialogue and tweaks the plot as necessary so that the MC is now staying with his Aunt, Uncle, and Cousins in Russia, instead of an unrelated host family.
- Anya/Olya are now both Lida's bio daughters.
- Adds taboo references throughout.
- Makes Tina's relationship as the MC's mom more explicit in the opening scenes that danced around it. Also renames her to Mom in game dialogue and on the phone entry stuff.
- References to "Lust and Life" characters/events altered to match the fan taboo mod version of that game's plot.
- Various English corrections, fixes for wrong person saying lines (or saying things that should be thought only), missing image corrections (when possible without modifying core files), etc.
- Enables the "+" money cheat to add $100 without needing dev mode turned on. (Money has to be over $0 to show up)
- Adds the option to rename the MC at the start of the game (For some reason the Dev gave the ability to rename him via the phone, but it only worked on the phone? While this mod now works everywhere except for the fight card game related stuff, I couldn't change it there easy without altering files.) Note that the MC was called Derek when he was a side character in the original "My Cute Roommate/Cousin". So if continuity is important to you, then don't enter a new name when prompted.


As always with my stuff feedback is appreciated, let me know if you encounter any issues in case I broke/missed something or there is anything that could be improved.

Yeah... I kind of saw that too. The annoying thing I ran into is the way the dev decided to handle the character assignments shoving their names into attribute stores instead of just defining characters like a normal person... So there wasn't really an easy workaround for that to make anything persistent that I could figure out. (I don't have a ton of coding experience, I just pick up basic stuff here and there as I go...)

Actually, because of the driver holding the sign that said "Derek" which I obviously could not change, I ultimately decided to just make Derek the character's last name, since no last name was ever given for any of the people in his family in MCR1 that I can recall? There really should have only been 4 instances where this occurs when it made sense for the MC's last name to be used: when Rita asks his name to confirm his identity, when Mikhail asks his name to make sure he is picking up the right person, when the MC introduces himself to the new dean, and once near the very end of the game.

Dont use the walkthrough mod it causes the error on JoiPlay and you need the Renpy Plugin 7.7.1 that so far is only for the current patreon version.

Not work on Android Joiplay, already edited script version to 7.7.1

"I totally get your point - and I actually feel the same in many ways For me, AI is more about speeding up the process, especially since I spend a huge amount of time creating animations. If I can use AI to make certain parts faster - that would be a big win But when it comes to the core renders, I agree - it's still better and simpler to do them by hand. Nothing beats the control and quality of manual work there"

Why am I getting a warning that my save was created on a different device? If it was, why would that matter from the dev's perspective? Just let me play this buggy game..... Forced to use a save editor to bring back navigation since it disappeared...

great game, but omg buggy... tried the save file fix and it corrected the save file and gave me the next task "do a stream" but cant do anything. it's a shame you have to use the gallery unlock mod to finish the game. Hopefully he fixes the game in time but he probably wont

That might have been the worst ending I've seen for an H game all year. The AI usage was bad, but that's not even the worst part. At least 4 of the characters in the game get either no sex scene or only one. Specifically, the dean who appeared on screen wayyy too much not to have a sex scene. Most disappointing update a game's gotten in a long time.
