Dear moderators (II)

What should I do to avoid getting the post deleted? Should I answer PrivilegedCholo that there is a skip function in Part 2 and explain to him/her how to activate it, or my post will be deleted because s/he said it doesn’t exist in a review?

Looking at your latest actions in this thread and that you are not complying with your own rules, I’m doubting if I should spend some time (a time I can spend developing a game, grating my head, or even fapping) solving a user’s issue because s/he reported it in a review instead of on the thread.

Thank you for understanding this developer's low intelligence and lack of comprehension of how this forum's all-powerful and ever-changing rules work and about why those who should be enforcing them are the first to break them.

Best regards,

Trop

And for the stupidest reason. It says "Don't debate review rating in the game thread".

Dear moderators: No one was debating the rating. We debated about his/her words. Either you do something to clarify your own rules (add something like "reviews are like Voldemort and can't be talked about. You devs should accept the lies someone vomits about your game" (and I'm not talking about that specific review)) or attach to them (don't delete posts talking about the review and NOT the rating). It's hard for us to comply with a rule that doesn't exist.
Or you can give us tools to answer those lies in the review section.
Thanks.
As I've come to realize, after a bit of a heated discussion with a mod, they basically make up their own reasons to delete stuff they don't like. While they base their own decisions on the actual rules, they override that by how they personally interpret the rules.

It's like givin a monkey the power of editing.

Write a ticket to Staff, specifically to Sam. Ask him why the monkeys he hired as mods aren't that smart...

I won't ever get into an argument with a mod. It's a lost battle.
"Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience."

To keep the post on topic. Should the developer of My Residence hire a mod for his Discord or should he buy Homer Simpson's toy bird clicking the delete post randomly?

Yeah. I finally told him that we were offtopic and he needed to clean the thread.

I'm pretty sure it was me that started that topic of conversation so, first I'll say sorry for leading ya'll down a gilded path - apparently. I say apparently because the "reason" given to me for the deletion of my posts was "Don't debate review rating in the game thread". Now I am a bit of a stickler for rules and it just so happens I keep a file that has the General Site Rules and Review Rules for my quick reference. It just so happens that "Don't debate review rating in the game thread" or a statement of the same meaning appears in neither. This fact would normally cause me to call bullshit, Mr. Moderator. But in the interest of not going off topic, I will instead say, "Damn, Trop, that last update was a real hum dinger. I am looking forward to the next one".

Oh, I almost forgot. That last "unbiased", in big bold letters, review... is horseshit. JMHO

S1nsational about people despising some genres
Some genres are always frowned upon as niche. Adult whatever is for perverts. Comic books are for kids. Fantasy and SciFi are for nerds. Videogames are for losers. The combination of two or more of those genres makes some people's heads explode.
Then Watchmen (graphic novel) appeared and the comic was for people of culture. The Lord of the Rings (movies) came; everyone loved Fantasy and started reading the books. Fallout TV Series? The same. One Piece (Real action TV series)? Oh, Manga and Anime perhaps aren't as bad.

The only thing thing that demonstrates is that those "derogators" of genres are only a bunch of snobs who can't see beyond the mainstream.

PrivilegedCholo about your "it's a porn VN"
And I disagree with you. It's not a porn VN. It's a story with explicit sex, not about porn. If it wasn't for Holywood's prudeness, movies would be like this, instead of seeing people who theoretically spend the night fucking and then they wake up decently clothed.

AslanBalaur about your post
And hey!! Glad to see the self-awareness that the MC is bad construction worker! I used to do kitchen cabinetry and furniture, but even I can demo a fence better than he did!
As for Lisa,, I view harem games sort of like Pokemon,, gotta get them all!!

LOVE My Dorm, and hope that it keeps being an awesome story for a LONG time to come!

Live Long and Prosper.
He has no fucking idea about how to demolish a fence. He looked at some YouTube videos (not the best ones) and went for it. The guy has the will to have the job done, but lacks the skills and knowledge. That scene is loosely based on my brother and his plumbing "fixes" to save some money. My father's sentence when he saw the result was "Why would you spend 500€ hiring a professional if you can spend 200€ and a lot of effort doing a mess that will cost 1,000€ to fix and a lot of work on my part?". I wasn't there, but it became a family joke every time my brother said "I'll do it".

I never read reviews, whether it's for an AVN on here, a movie review, a restaurant review. Everybody's tastes are different. I want to find out for myself, my preferences probably won't match up with more than half the people doing the reviews. So why bother?
Most people don't read reviews (or even the OP :D ) on these sites, but everyone sees the average "points". Imagine this: a player is looking for a new game to play and he sees two games he never heard about in the Latest Games page and has to decide which one to play. They have the same tags and similar renders. One has 3.5 stars and the other has 1.7 stars. Most players won't even think about the 1.7-star game twice. And perhaps it has a (fair) 5-star and 5 (lying) 1-star reviews (because the dev was an asshole treating his players in his last game). That's the importance of reviews in a corrupted system like this one.

I feel a bit brutalized. No, not even Vaseline will help.

Having an opinion, is fine and dandy. It is even recommended.

When you impose a gag on pointing inconsistencies, lies, misinterpretations or plain malevolence, the opinion loses all importance and/or relevance. Suffocating dissent, is quite good as a means to create dissatisfaction, disinterest and apathy. It is no longer a discourse.

Each day it becomes less interesting to even bother...

Peace :(

I'm sure a lot of people would do that. I personally would not. I would give both equal consideration as to whether or not I would try them. Sometimes it's just hard to find something you like (depending on the tag you're looking for) and you need try out the 1 or 2 star rated game. I've found some that I like that way a few times.

I must be way different then. I see a new or updated game first thing I look at are the tags. Does that game have the tags that I like. The next thing I do is go to the thread and read the last 5-6 pages of thread and see what people are commenting about the game and to see if the dev is in the thread or does the dev have one of their patrons post updates and such about the game. Reviews to me are useless in the most cases.
Another case of broken quote....this time even with a link to something :ROFLMAO:

After the first week here, I stopped reading reviews. I also stopped giving any credence to the ratings.

I look at Tags. If it has tags I dislike, but a majority of tags I like, I may check if there's any talk about them being (Optional). In most cases, I press Ignore thread. If the tags ratio is unbalanced towards the ones I've learned to not be worth my time, I go to the thread ONLY to ignore it. It is quite rare that I find only Tags I like.

Peace :(

Exactly.

The last few times they deleted posts, it was for really weird and non-valid reasons. One was that we were not talking about the game.... when we actually talked about the game. :ROFLMAO:

How can we understand rules if even the moderators dont?
