I see people whine about how a game does not conform to their ideas and standards (especially games that have been around a long time, like My Dorm) and my first thought is...
I mean, move on & find something else that does fit your playstyle. There are 1000's of games here that do not require a single functioning braincell to play nor test their actual educational standards vs. what their teachers told them.
Why in God's name do they feel the need to keep talking about wanting changes that will never, ever happen?

on everything and every save (the whole vn is a blank background no images), maybe I've had one too many beers. but if so I'd struggle same amount with all recent av not just one that has no start option to begin anew...wtf am i doing wrong (using the current ic patch)

That means you loaded a 0.18 or 0.19 save before the pool party.
As said on the OP, you need a 0.20 save
Did it get solved? On what platform do you play? What image was missing? If it starts with c17/c18/c19 is a save from a chapter before 0.20. It was never a problem - I was testing if I needed to keep the pt2 engine around is all (and I did need to).
I don't recall where the save was from; it may have just been too early in pt2. Tl;dr: it loaded and everything was happy, but the images weren't there. But play pt2 with the pt2 engine and everyhing was fine.
