I'm at the Scarlett Dinner Date and it begins nicely with flowers and chocolate but then, for some reason, the MC Becomes A Dick and begins Making Fun and Putting Down the Delicious Spaghetti She put together.

WHO in the F*K does that on a First Date and expect the Girl to be Okay with it???

Here's some Sample of what this IDIOT MC says

"It doesn't look that bad. It just looks...Different"
"Shall we dare?"
"Scarlett says: Disgusting isn't it MC: I wouldn't go that far. Let's just say it narrowly exceeds the level of "edible"
Scarlett then suggests Ordering out for Pizza and the MC say "Yes Please" and they sit there waiting for Pizza (and I assume Scarlett is humilitated that whole time but this Dickhead MC is too Clueless that he caused it)

And Finally "The Spaghetti turned out as Hard as Hell....If that was your goal, you Succeeded" WTF!

I am hoping that lack of Tact or Cluelessness is not again to happen in Chapter 2 because that is VERY Bad and the way MC talked about her Cooking with the LEAST Possible Tact was Annoying and threw Me out of the scene. NO Girl would want to be with someone that does them and humilitates them.

You're overthinking it.
The spaghetti sucked ass, they both agreed and laughed about it, and had a great time together.

If it was a first date with some kind of stranger than yeah sure but this is Scarlett we're talking about. She knew it was bad and they were both just having a go at it. If she was actually upset by anything he said, she would have said so, and the MC would have apologized and talked his way out of being in trouble.

What Nadira and jadepaladin said.
He's not humiliating her, he's joking about it because she feels overwhelmed by how bad the spaghetti turned, and joking is a way to tell her "It's fine. We can build our relationship with that spaghetti as the founding stone" (pun intended by me, not the MC). We have an MC who never lies, and telling a girl who knows about it that the spaghetti was wonderful (when she knows it wasn't) would derail the date.
He builds every relationship (even the ones that don't use spaghetti as bricks) focusing on sincerity and humor. Doing it differently with Scarlett would be like telling her "You are not as strong as the others". He can hide the truth, but not outright lie.

Trope95 ... you are having way too much fun with these company names ...
That's the last one (at least for a while), I promise :ROFLMAO:

He can hide the truth, but not outright lie.
And this is what makes this MC special and involving.

While a little white lie isn't much of a problem, in the right moment, for the right reason, even those can snowball and derail any type of honest connection.

Sure, never lying is a tremendous effort. It is also quite dangerous socially, especially for a society that sees white lies as lubricant. Some places in this world have a rather different approach to this. Brutal honesty and frontality sometimes even aggressively so, is a trademark of many places around the world. Where even a fake smile is read as an insult.

I know several people that are on both extremes of this. Some lie compulsively, for no reason whatsoever. Others refuse even the small social lubricant of a neutral expression.

This MC's positioning, by the hands of Trope, is rather tender. Neither is he aggressive, nor is he passive. He's simply truthful and caring. I would truly love to be seen that way by those around me. I may not always reach that level, but, I do try and have been doing an even bigger effort as I've gotten older.

So, as was said above by Jade and Nadira, it would be completely out of line for this MC to lie to Scarlett on something as obvious, that she knows it would be lying and would be interpreted has patronizing and infantilizing. Scarlett is highly intelligent, very well adjusted emotionally in spite of the horrible upbringing her mother subjected her too, if for nothing more than the most basic respect, she deserves the truth as a minimum, and as a lover she deserves it involved in care and humor. Anything less would be insulting.

So, I do think that that user read the lines with an intention and an attitude that isn't there, or, is not as in tune with how our MC goes about his interactions. There's another possibility, but I will not go there.

Peace :)

Oh, he can lie, even if he isn't good at it, but not to the ones he loves.
One instance of that is when he bluffs with the recording of Jonas's conversation. He lies trying to get him in line and respect the contract. He fails miserably.
He will hide the truth to his loved ones in two instances:
* If saying the truth would hurt them.
* If it isn't his secret to tell.
But he won't tell a lie to them, even a white one. It would set a precedent.

Thanks for your review.
Animations get better in Season 2, I hope you enjoy it as much as you enjoyed Season 1.
About Martha's dress, the red one is my favorite too, but wearing it would be out of character for her at that stage. That's one of the reasons I didn't give the player the choice. She would reject it even if the MC (she's not dating him then) says otherwise.
The other obvious reason for not giving the choice is that I didn't have the rig to triple-render the date. The whole update has 344 renders, the date is 77 renders long, so giving the choice would mean rendering 154 extra renders (44.7%) I didn't have the computing power to do.
