I hate that the cast is so vast because I yearn for more Deb.
She looks sooo good, and her character archetype is sooo rare...
I hear you, and I kinda agree.
The thing is, without a larger cast to support her, it is doubtful that a character like Deb could rise up in the "normal" LI tropes. She's amazing, yes, but it is so by the contrast. The same way that Kate is awesome, but would probably disappear in almost all other settings that we can find in this Forum. Or Kim. Even Lisa.
Deb is a real gem of a character, not only in the looks, but also in the way Tropecita wrote her in. But, what really brings it, is the ambiance and the calm tenderness that permeates the whole game, with it's focus on kindness, truth and respect. In any other setting, of the type we are bombarded on each and every other game here, Deb's character would disappear, or be turned into the favorite victim of the run of the mill asshole male character that everyone loves to write.
The size of the cast and the corollary of less exposure time, helps in bringing out the best of each of the Harem Members, in small chunks of awesome. Is this the best formula? Probably not. It is however what is possible for a single Dev with a rather tight release schedule, and, in spite of all the drawbacks, it works.
So, yeah, I kinda agree, I just don't hate the cast size. It makes the story a LOT better.
Peace
