You're right, a lot of players always say its personal choice. Which granted it is, but I'm hoping I can give a legit answer here. For me it comes down to replay ability. I love a lot of these visual novels that I don't want to beat it in a single playthrough. I want a reason to come back to these games to be honest. For me its not like Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Baldur's Gate, ect ect. Where you can go in make different choices and move your character around and find hidden secrets within the game. Once you do a full harem route on a VN and the game (and this is a big if) is completed than thats it, its over, your done time to move on to the next harem game. I hope that is a good reason for why I don't like doing full harems if I can avoid it. One thing I can say for sure is no matter if your a Full Harem player, Mini Harem player, or just one romance at a time player, we are all Vanilla players and we stick together no matter what against NTR haha.

I've replayed My Dorm, I think, 6 times. Latest one, I simply changed the Language to Spanish, and, I absolutely LOVED it.

The thing with me is, I don't need any other reason to replay, except being in love with the game. I am also a serial re-reader. First because of cost, second because I read way too fast, one paragraph at a time. Several times, I've had to re-read a book immediately after finishing it. Why? Because I was not ready to leave the story.

There are a few games that I replay when I want to feel "at home", My Dorm is one of those. I was never one to go for the "Delayed Reward", I am ADHD and that simply doesn't work for us. I can't fathom a reason to play a game, a Harem game even, and say No to any of the LI's. Because if there's one that I simply HAD to say no to, I'd rather delete the game and move on.

So, while I thank you for your honesty, and decent explanation, I still could NEVER play it that way, I'd feel like I was cheating myself.

No problem man, I'm just glad I could explain my reasoning for not doing Full Harem. Like you said about me I don't call anyone out for any playstyle on the forum, even people who like NTR. While I say stuff about that "kink" I don't care if people like it or not you know. If I see the Netorare tag than I just look at the comments to see if its avoidable. Reason I'm bringing up this kink here is because if its a game that has netorare and harem in it at the same time, than I would absolutely do full harem as I don't need to see any of the "other" content.

Well no time like the present to get started again... Time to blair We Came As Romans new song Bad Luck. Maybe even throw some of The Broken View as well. For anyone who listens to their own music while playing VN than I recommend listening to The Broken View. They are an indie soft rock band from New York. 3 songs I recommend are Ordinary Love, In Too Deep, and I'll be There. Those songs fit this game alot trust me.

It's a good game but the English is just so unnatural and wrong/bad, kind of breaks the immersion.

I feel the exact same way.

I've dropped games that I've followed for over a year 'cos the dev introduced a character who I had no interest in (or revealed that a character had traits that made me lose interest in her).

I think the natural/unnatural thing for readers (and I'm not talking directly about you, so no offense intended) depends on those players' backgrounds and what they are used to. The naturalness of how something "sounds" would be different for a player in a slum in Nairobi (Kenya), a player raised in Knightsbridge (London, UK), a player in the Appalachian (US), or a player from Sydney (Australia). All of them are native speakers, by the way.

I guess someone with bad grammar, who doesn't know how to structure a question or how pronouns or prepositions work, could think the language used by people (mostly) speaking correctly is stiff or posh.

If software as simple as Grammarly (free version) can detect four mistakes in your first paragraph, I guess you aren't used to properly written English (I can detect a couple extra mistakes that Grammarly didn't):

It really isn't. Are you a native English speaker? I suspect not. If you are, I further suspect you did poorly in English class - C student at best. I was an A+ student in Honors/AP English classes, BTW, 8th grade all the way through college. They didn't offer it in 7th grade at that time.

Honestly, "that are" isn't actually a problem; however, the rest really is a bit bad. Also, the comma after "them" should have been a dash, or, possibly, a colon, but a dash is more fitting with the writing.

Irony is having a go at someone for their spelling/grammar and using an incorrect word while doing so.

Payed is a nautical term for coating the boat with waterproof material (or letting out the rope or chain).

The correct word is 'paid'.

While the person you were replying to was quite rude about it, I can say that the game seems to be set in the US and there are phrases that do seem super off to me. Granted in the US, given its so large with such diverse communities, dialects can be extremely varied. I'm fairly well traveled and something like "I want to eat your lipstick" hits my brain in a real awkward way. I cannot imagine anyone ever intentionally saying that. That said, even though there are numerous turns of phrase that don't sound natural to me I can always get the gist of what you're trying to get across.

So, I agree that the dialogue very often doesn't feel natural for the setting I don't think its a big deal.

The setting is California - Hollyweird isn't that far away. That particular phrase would probably be pretty tame in that environment - Playboy Mansion, Diddy Parties....
