She didn't feel the guys she dated were as good as the MC, they didn't treat her like he used to, so she didn't go beyond some kisses with a couple of them and dinner/cinema with a couple more. Four bad (or even horrible) dates in two years and she desisted of dating other men.

That is true but in most cases , especially in California, there's a good chance of fucking involved. Unless you're in a conservative area where the relationship is formalized before anything physical happens (most of the time anyways).

I never actually went on dates per se. All my dating was just time spent doing mutual activities, theater or choir usually, then deciding we were a couple, then going on "dates" to do couple shit. The whole go to a movie and dinner with a stranger to see if you wanna do that a few more times before becoming a couple thing... Is uh really weird to me. I basically have to die before the missus, cause I have no idea how to do things "normally".
