I understand some people want to do monogamous paths, I just could never do it. I won't even play AVNs that solo LI only paths. First off, I don't have time to do multiple playthroughs, secondly, I find it boring.

But that is the beauty of My Dorm. You can do a monogamous run, go after just a couple or go for the harem and get them all.

It depends a bit on how the game is set up. If it's basically a harem game but you have to choose I agree but if it's clearly written for a monogamous path it can be very enjoyable.
Games like Chasing Sunsets or Being a DIK come to mind where I don't even want to go for a harem. That being said, I DO have trouble going for any path other than Jaye (+Malory) or Maya & Josie in those games
Then again, a harem game that isn't a true harem and is basically a cheating or "LI ignore any other LI" game isn't very enjoyable either to me. My Dorm is harem done right imho.

IMHO that are the worst "harem" games out there. For me harem stands for love and community. If those principles are violated it's not even harem in my book. For me it's important that the harem girls know as soon as possible that they're in a harem. I also think the girls should like each other, like they're sisters (nonsexual I'm not a fan of inner harem lesbianism, but that's my personal preference).

J + M, and M + J, is the ONLY way to go.... I can't even fathom not to. And I tried. Couldn't do it.

Me, I can no longer do half-assed harem runs. I either get them all, or I feel like I didn't get anything.

There's a game I absolutely LOVED, from top to bottom. With one exception, 2 LI's had to be left behind. I still feel like I lost the game, sure, they were never even possible in a harem route. Yet, the feeling isn't rational. I have the same problem with food. Whatever I put in my plate, I have to eat it all. I can't help it. Nevermind that it is too much, the feeling of failure is unbearable.
Here, in MD, there's not even a question "if" any LI will be added, only of "when". Martha Uber Alles, but alles anyway... ::cheeky grin::

Not for me. I have no interest in doing solo LI paths. I don't have to have a harem in a game but at least a poly. I want to be able to be with more than one at a time. The games that bug me the most are the ones that throw 6 or 12 hot women at you and then force you to choose one.

The game is built so every player can choose the size of his harem (from zero to 28) and the number of pregnancies (from zero to 27).

This game will be a major source of stress as long as the two totals do not match. I cannot sleep at night because of that.

The MC's company should fix that as soon as possible, using a womb transplant if necessary.

That's why I say there isn't a canon playthrough. Vidal can have his monogamous playthroughs, snake his partial harem, Nadira, Crow, and FG their full harem, and some masochists curious players their celibacy playthrough. Every combination is right and valid.

What My Dorm will never do is:
* Make you choose between two (or more) girls or scenes. The only exception are the My Residence "time wasters", but they are in the gallery.
* Force a multiple path. I thought of Amanda and Eva as a forced multiple path originally (both or none), and Kim and Kate as something similar (Kim, Kim+Kate, or none, but not Kate without Kim). I discarded the idea. More work, but truer to the game spirit (see below).
* Force any LI on the player. This was (is) a very important point to me. You can dislike Simone, Meemaw, or Martha and I'm no one to force them into your harem. That's why I discarded the point above (you can like Amanda but not Eva, or Kate but not Kim). Even filthy heathens erm... players with bad taste erm... players with a different taste from mine deserve to build their harem to their liking. Just kidding with the strikethrough text.

Hello, dev here.
You can play monogamy in My Dorm. The story and the dialogue will adapt to it.
Vidal the king of Pervert is known for playing monogamous playthroughs and he's enjoying them(AFAIK, he is playing three or four different playthroughs, each with only one girl).
The "big story" won't change, since it's a story about a family of choice, and the life of the LIs doesn't revolve around the MC, but the "small stories" of each girl will be different.
You can do 28 (only 20 of them are implemented right now, 6 of the girls haven't arrived yet) different monogamous playthroughs, a celibacy playthrough, a full harem playthrough, or anything in between.

It's fine. I'm a femdom player, I just got into this cus I thought Erika and Daphine's designs were really awesome. I kinda forgot how rabid the vanilla harem community is, I won't involve myself further with your game. I do still wish you good luck, also its nice to know you took that into account, but I think I'm just going to run away now

The only game that truly overwhelmed me with LIs to screw was 23 Sisters, because you know.. you got each one preggers and their daughters grew up at an accelerated rate so you could do them too. Near the end I couldn't even remember most of their names (though it didn't really matter as long as they were hot-to-trot).

7 doesn't really seem that many in comparison. But I guess I'm just an old-fashioned horndog at heart. And I respect that Trope has a finite amount of time to spend on giving us fresh faces and bodies. So respect her I will, but pine for more I will also do!
